I been flying r/c helis for awhile. I can do the normal stuff like loops, rolls, flying around, and some inverted. I just recently got a parkzone spitfire 3 channel plane from a raffle funfly. I been looking at this site and it seems flying airplanes are pretty cool too. I can fly okay in the simulator for planes. I just don't want to wreck my beautiful warplane. Never flown a real r/c plane in real life before. Should I even attempt to fly this bird or should I invest in another type of foam plane to learn how to fly? I was looking at a superzoom. Any insights?

Flying airplanes will feel similar to FF in helis. The only thing you have to be cognizant of is stalling. But as long as you have someone helping you trim your plane, just fly it, beat the snot out of it, and then upgrade .

tdsounds...... I took a friend of mine out for his first flight and trimmed out his P-51 and after a few pointers handed him the sticks, and wala instant pilot. Since you are fly'n with the sim you should be fine. It may help to have another experienced pilot there so if there is a problem you can save it. Also having the plane trimmed out and minimal control throw( in light wind conditions ) will save you a loss early on!!! Good luck!! John C. |

Well hello there TDsounds hey man i must say that the spit fire is a great plane i have one myself. BUT...i know there is always a but. If in the future you are planing to go a little bigger in the size of plane you are going to be flying. You are not going to want to start with a 3 channel park flyer. I went that route and i realized i just lost money doing it that way. I started with and aerobird challenger and also a parkzone decathelon. they were really fun but they really werent much of a help getting me closer to flying the nitro or gas ones. Ive now been flying for about 5 years and i teach people to fly now. The best be its to have fun with that park flyer but go join a club and learn on a good nitro trainer. Trust me man you will learn so much faster with a trainer and a good nitro plane....much more worth your time and money.....................Just trying to help you and your interests....Dan |
