Hey guys, I have been working on this project for 6 months now, I have been cad ding up a 25% Votec 322 foamy made of 6mm and 3mm depron with the goal of building it at no heaver AUW then 4.5lbs. I have just plotted the final templates on full size 30"x80" sheets and will begin cutting tonight. This will not be a "overnight" project but the goal is to have it built, flown, and tweaked by no later then July 4th of this year. which is my B-Day! I will then offer the Cad files to the Company of my choice so they may kit it for all of you! I Imagine it will not be a ARF do to the fact that it will most likely cost too much to have somebody assemble airframes, crate, and ship. The Goal is to have a bird built directly around the E-Flight Out runners, This one will use the 60 size motor. to try and keep the cost of a Giant Scale E-Powered bird REASONABLE...... The only thing I have not made a decision on is whether or not the wing will be a traditional build or Foam Core, I'm leaning toward the traditional rib and stringer construction with 3mm sheet. Please post your thoughts on the wing....... Here is a screen shot of what we have to look forward too..... Take Care Chris Mc Nair

| I will enjoy following the progress of your project. But not to nickpick but that isn't a Votec. A votec is actually based on a 2 seat one design. What you have there looks much more like a velox. How about someone make a hard core 3D Helo for a DA 50 or something like that!!!!! Why dont they? They have bigger than .90 sized rc planes, just not helis, they would probably require different engines than we have for our big planes but it wouldnt be too hard would it? Gang 5955's together for the rotors? |

I was one of the original 5 that were to receive kits for testing from Levi. After the sale I think the project just got put aside. I understand that John will be looking into this project, but to date, there is no new news. It would have been a sweet project to be involved in, I'm patiently waiting to hear from John.

I think that a 3 and 6mm structure sheeted with 2 or 3mm would be plenty strong and much lighter than the foam cores. A few carefully placed CF parts for strength would be awesome also. Great project, I'm very interested!!
