Jeremy,

Very nice tutorial! Wish I had seen it sooner, I was starting to do my milling experiments about the same time as you started the tutorial. Your method is better than mine from the standpoint of the brass guide, I will modify my cutter to include your method.

Huckneer,

At this time I am still waiting on the kit to be produced by BP Hobbies so am not giving out plans for the Ballerina. Mr Flash is doing an excellent build guide which will be published in the UK along with plans in the not too distant future.

Jerry

i didnt use the plexy glass or the brass tube, and it turned out great. It is just hard to do it freehand. i might put the plexy glass on because of the leveling around the edges.

I think its worth the work in milling. Looks pretty sweet too.

I have to try this out. i was thinking about using 6mm Depron for the main part of the wings on my new F3P ship because its stiffer and this would wipe out the weight penalty.

Except, you now have a 5mm pocket instead of 2mm. I expect this will create a very noticable effect similar to an undercambered airfoil.

Thanks Flash! You'll have to pardon my stupidity, but whats OD?
does that mean "own design"? if so, then yes, it is my own design

Awesome job Craig!!!! I'm really glad to see people using this how-to. Awesome results from all. There is going to be some serious hardware flying around this year!

Thanks. Makes it harder to paint the side that is milled. Going to the dome for an all nighter to fly it. Going to be a long night

Here is mine attempt to mill my friends new Deluxe F3P This plane was just for technique testing, i milled wings and elevator this remove not so much only ~3.5g. But its ok, 3.5g less weight and more little brakes should give result. I spend allot of $ for lightest/best equipment so little work ro remove few extra g is not a problem. Milling is pretty fast and fun thing, but preparetion of good templates takes some time, here are first pictures:

On next one, i think to mill bigger areas , including some parts of fuselage, we will see what i will get. but from my tests so fari can see that milling depron planes makes more sence than milling extrupor for both strenght and weight reducing.

Thanks for inspiration Jeremy!
