Well its about time I put this bird together. I think its called the Razorback aka( Sypher)? a Mark leseberg design. This was purchased back in May, after watching some dynamic thumb work from the top ETOC pilots, I had to call on Jason at Insaine Foamies to pick one up. Without build instructions I used the few pics I had as reference to put it together and , Man it was fun. The airframe and servos weigh in at 3.5 oz and I will try to keep it at 5.5 oz rtf. I Finished the airframe the other day and am waiting on the motor aka 2203 Axi. Hope to fly it next week at our local Dome. Here are the pics...... John C. |

Very neat! What is the material used for the rudder and ele pull pull? I'm using fishing line, and its hard as hell to tie nots.

I am using Kevlar thread , this stuff is hard to cut with a knife ... I take a small sewing needle and loop the thread through the hole and while holding it just snug i wick some CA and kicker to hold it tight and then tie the knots about 3-4 times... this works great and it holds. Also Sleepy, if you look at the servo horns I weave the line through the servo holes and when you get your surface centered wick a little Ca on the horn. I have heard some guys use toothpicks and break them off in the horn to hold the thread so if it needs adjusting you can push out the wood and realign the surface. hope this makes sense.... By the way great job on your foamie.. JC here is a close up of the pull pull lines.... |

Niiice! I just finished mine up as well. I picked this one up from Jason Danhakl at the JR indoor fest. Mine is a newer version with a slightly different wing. Only have a few flights so far but it's pretty awesome. AUW is heavyish at 4.9 oz but it flies pretty light. ![]() RJ

Regarding the above statement........... Did anyone ever think we'd use the term "heavyish" to describe a 4.9oz plane?? Un-fricken-believable what these foamies are weighing these days. Really not too difficult to put together a sub 5oz plane with off-the-shelf components these days. Amazing, really.xtreme, nice job on the pull pull rigging. ![]() Cheers, Dave | ||||||||||||||||||

AWESOME. I was wondering what a good way to do that was. I used pull pull on my Feather Vrolets but the lines always went slack so I went back to carbon rods. Next one will go back to PP. My new Vrolet is 4.9 AUW.

RJ, Great looking version of this awesome plane. I cant seem to build under 5.5oz but find this weight to be perfect for super slow flight. I might go to one aileron servo . Lets get some video of these birds!!!Wayne, I think this would be easy to do even at the field, thanks for the inspiration on your builds! Thanks Dave and Huckin Video coming soon!!. JC |
