Foam safe CA is not available at my end, but have also seen many people use the hot glue gun for depron, i am building a depron F3A biplane, but assembling the fuselage with a slow cure glue is a real pain.......

I use hot glue for the servos.... sure, you "could" build with it.... but I think it would add too much weight..... where are you that you cannot get CA? you can always order it... Uhu Por is good too....

Hi Harrys I normally build all my shockys only using hot glue, works well, is quick, flexible and its great for repairs, it does add weight though... I have just built a new f3p style plane with hot glue and is about 20gram heavier than the one I built using CA... For indoors ca and uhu por (contact adhesive) are much better, but for outdoor, go with hot glue!

If Im building for weight I go with CA and for durability Hot glue. If you use it real sparingly you wont add that much weight. I just built a Morback with Hot glue and 5 servos just around 6.75 oz. Should be perfect for the abuse!!  John |

Agreed... you can build with it, but its a lot like building with lead adhesive......

I don't use Hot Glue. Too much weight, too messy, melts the foam, result turns out looking kinda sloppy. CA built planes are almost more durable than ones built with Hot Glue, which is why I never build with hot glue. I only use hot glue to mount servos, and that is if I have to use Hot Glue. And Foam Safe CA can always be ordered online...

Xpress, sorry, I have to disagree... Hot glue can melt foam if you leave it plugged in for a looong time, but normally is ok. And with a bit of practice can make nice beads of glue (lighter and not sloppy blobs!) Not sura about CA being more durable either  but dont know

One stick of hot glue weighs 4g. The last 32" 3mm depron foamy I made I used 1/4 of a stick. Hot glue is heavy, but it is alright as long as you dont make fillets with it. Makes excellent light hinges though!
