The 48 inch was a project of mine that started from the Idea of getting better performance out of the BAF electric system while running a 3 cell 2100 single battery. I was looking for 26-27 0z, 350-400 watt kit that I could run a 2100 three cell in with decent run time. So I asked Mike to to cut one for me . He graciously accepted, and a day later I had the plane for testing. The one I chose was a Juka, in re-scaling the 38 inch Juka to a BAF ,the fuse had to be reduced in size. When Mike re-scaled the 38inch to a 48 inch Juka it is proportional to the 38 inch giving in essence our 48 inch more side area in relation to the wing compared to the BAF. Creating great Knife edge flight and solid hover and torqs. The goal was achieved and the benefits were huge. Light, 27oz, powerfull 380 watts and easy to assemble. After flying one for two weeks now, Mike and I relized this was to good not to be in a kit. A lot of people have this gear lying around or at least most of it. 3 cell 2100 lipo 20c 4 HB 65s or a good 24-30 oz servo 12*3.8 Slow fly prop Hacker 30-16m or equivalent 35-55 Amp speed control BUILD LIGHT!!! I used no bracing except two small rods on the tail. Motor weight should not exceed 3.5-4 oz If you go past 29oz the flight characteristic goes down. I Love my 48 inch, It flys like the baf,but 3D's like a 38inch a great tumbler, solid Knife and easy transport. Works well in light wind 10-15 mph. Cost is 74.95 Heres some pics of today, I also included my lowest knife without crashing,I did loose most of the monocoat on the tips.lol ...and a link for video of the 48".

I want one, I had the yak and it was badass. Will it come plain white or will there be an option for the flamed one..(hint,hint,) ? Still have all of the gear rom the BAF, just need a new speed controller.

Sorry only white dude, I put the 3022-12 motor on it from the baf and it was a ballistic missile. Even toned down with a smaller lighter motor its still fast and furious.

Nice Snap, I like that size as a little bigger presentation than the 38". But still can just pop that thing in the back seat. I'm in for 48" Juka as soon as Mike gets everything cut. I understand he's sitting on a big pile of 9" depron. The Skua is unreal, I've been lucky enough to get an early one, and I've been grinning ever since. It has its own style that's for sure. The loops are just sick. I'm going to fly a bunch of packs on my way to work tomorrow, and I'll probably end up being late again. ![]() |

Mike has Skuas in now,at least a few. There has been a few updates to the final version. I flew it today and its dialed. The 48 inch juka is my favorite. The Skua is riding the tail of pretty close hard to decide what to fly.
