Default G-62 hovering prop?

Hi All
What's a good prop for hovering around with a Zenoah G-62? The manual calls for a 22x10 prop on it, but I'm betting there's a better choice for doing hovering.

Thanks
Terry

Cool - thanks guys! I'm hoping to get one for my BME 50cc. Does it have about the same power as the 62 then?

Not even on a good day.

The 62 will outrun the BME by 1000 RPM on any prop.

So, do you want to hover with a BME 50 or is it a G-62?

For the BME 50 you want a 22-8 prop.

For the G-62 you want a 22-10 or a 23-10.

Buy a GOOD prop. Those Zinger and Top Flite props are for warbirds. Get an NX or 3W or MSC or Menz S or even a Mejlik (sp?) Spend a dollar or two more on a good prop and you'll be amazed at the performance difference.

For a BME 50, a Vess 22A would work well. IMO the vess 22A and 23A for the 50cc motors pull the best of all the ones we have tried including mejzlik, pt, nx and bolly wood.

I've got the BME 50 in a 30% Edge right now & am looking at a different prop to try on it. The G-62 is a different project that I'm helping with. Just wanted to see if the 22x10 in the G-62 manual was what to go with. Probably good for the majority of sport flying - just maybe not the same for 3-D.

Thanks for all the help!
Terry

I just put a xoar 23x8 on my 62 and love it. I have also run a mejlik 23x8 with good results. pulls hard from a hover on a 18 lb. Yak.

I have a menz 24x8 on my zenoah 62 the pull out is pretty good (even though the engine is is relatively young - 5 flights) and is easy enough to prophang at about half throttle. i cant comment on the rest as this is the only prop i have tried!

I am really pleased to see folks taking hovering and a G62 seriously....

And... I am a Breitling guy and dig that scheme!!!!!

Hanger 9 has always advertised there 33%'ers with the g62 on the low end. Has anyone had any experiance with a 33-35% airplane with one of these motors. I am trying to promote IMAC at a warbird and jet field.
