Now I have another question ![]() If you look my photos (post #177) you noted my carb doesn´t have the little black angled plastic gas inlet, only the brass gasoline input, BUT looking other picts of the GF26i I see the black angled fuel line connector. In the Box I found only mount hardware. Is this a problem? Can I connect the fuel line directly?. Sorry my bad English! And Thanks again! Eddy | ||||||||||||||||||

I just bought this cute little engine and I'm planning on using it in my 76 inch Extra. It weighs in at 11.5 lbs (dry) and it's currently powered by a ST2300 with a Hawk 18X8 running on 5%. This setup is barely OK for sport flying but not even close for extreme aerobatics, let alone 3D. I've tached the ST @ 6600 rpm with the 18X8 and 7050 with a Hawk 18X6. I hope this little gasser can provide at least an 800 rpm improvement over glow. I fly a lot and a move to gas will save me a great deal of money. I also hope that having chosen the 26 over the new 50 was not a mistake as I prefer a larger plane adequately powered but with a low wing loading. Any thoughts appreciated. |

I just received myGF26i today. I am suprised the Carb is only 7.94mm venturi my Old Zenoah KG 22 came with a 7.94mm venturi. The Newer Zenoahs come with either a 11.1 or 12.7 mm venturi I wonder if this engine could benefit from this? Mine is going in a Cermark SU-31. Last edited by vettebob; 02-22-2008 at 10:17 AM. |

You need to lose a pound if you want to 3d this engine. I have had it in the Showtime 90 at 9 3/4 Lbs and a 70" Yak at 9 1/2 lbs. I finally found a good home for this engine in this 71" Spitfire.

Yes, 10lbs and under for 3D. My Laser is @11 lbs 2oz. and the vertilce is limited and any 3D type flying needs to be wide open at that weight. The lighter the better. |

I'm in the process of installing the 26 to my Extra. I will be breaking in the gasser on the plane since I don't have a bench and DA recommends the practice as they claim that harmful vibrations are mitigated by spreading them over the mass of the plane. Sounds good to me. I'll be using a Hawk 18X6 for the first few hours.

In this thread on the CRRC 26cc I have posted numbers and pull in weight from a digital scale. I will post findings of these props in the air as soon as the weather breaks and I can get out to the field. Pull readings aren't everything, it's an idea, but in the air is where it counts. I have a Brillelli 36GT in a 14lbs Yak 54. A Xoar 20 X 8 makes 15 lbs. 1 oz. of pull on the Brillelli. A APC 18 X 6W makes 13 lbs 15 oz. of pull on the Brillelli. The APC 18 X 6W smokes the Xoar 20 X 8. The Yak had limitied verticle with the 20 X 8 ( which shows more lbs. of pull ), but the APC 18 X 6W has unlimited verticle and it shows more then a pound less in pull on the scale. So when I get out to the field and try these props in the air, I will tell you what I find. Here are the numbers again of what I was running on the ground with the CRRC Pro GF26I. I did not do a fine tuning of the engine for these numbers, I just did a prop change. It was tuned to the Xoar 18 X 6, so tweaking to each prop should change the numbers alittle better, but this is a base line guide with these props. Xoar 16 X 8 @ 8400 rpm with 12.2 lbs. of pull. Xoar 17 X 6 @ 8400 rpm with 13.3 lbs. of pull. **** Best pull on the ground **** Xoar 17 X 8 @ 7500 rpm with 11.5 lbs. of pull. Xoar 18 X 6 @ 7800 rpm with 12.1 lbs. of pull. APC 18 X 6W @ 7800 rpm with 12.4 lbs. of pull. Xoar 18 X 8 @7400 rpm with 11.0 lbs. of pull. Master Airscrew Classic 16 X 10 @ 7800 rpm with 12 lbs. 9 oz. of pull Master Airscrew wood 18 X 6 @ 7200 rpm with 12 lbs. 8 oz. of pull |

Well, after about 500 flips I was able to start my brand new CRRC PRO CF26i. I tried every trick in the book but wasn't getting anywhere until I turned the plane on its side and poured some gas through the velocity stack. Another 100 flips and she came alive. And what a sweet little engine it is! I ran it for about 10 minutes and it behaved like a swiss clock, idling very smoothly just under 2000 and holding 3300 rpm with no hesitations. Tomorrow will continue the break in. Will post results. |

both of mine seem sweet as well. sounds like i had better luck . my 26 took a little work to get primed but after running on the stand for an hour it starts cold in 3-5 whips. the 50 started in 5 flings from new and the idle set in nicely after about 1/2 hour. both have run on the stand foir 2 plus hours and sing like a lark.

question for you as i am putting the same motor in the same plane ironicaly. are you happy with the way it flys and where did you mount the fuel tank. i want to move mine under the wing tube. | ||||||||||||||||||

Man oh Man!!...what ever happened to your Tana?...I had one like yours that got pounded into the ground due to flutter...this little CRRC 26 was intended to for her but I had to change plans after my X100 untimely demise. The Extra is in right now weighs close to 11 lbs so I'll be pushing the envelope a bit.
