Well, the verdict is out. I bought my CRRC 26 back in May. After a few weeks of running, I had to send to Canada (Paragon RC) where several parts were replaced. Shortly after the prop hub cracked and I had to buy a new one which also cracked later (this time I got a free replacement from Valley View RC). Then the hall sensor's mount broke and it too needed to be replaced (I bought 2 just in case). And just when everything seemed to be OK the darn ignition fails. This is my first gas engine and I really like the way it runs, but, it seems to me that the quality of the parts is at least sub standard. So, for my next gas engine, I may have to look elsewhere.

Is it ok to drill the prop washer and spindle to accept a couple of prop bolts?

I suppose you could if you wanted to, although I can't think of a reason to do so. I know of several engines up to 50cc with only 1 bolt or nut holding the prop on that have no problem with slipping. You would want to be careful to get them exactly 180 deg. from each other to maintain proper balance. Jody |

Yea, that would be a problem, but my 26 kicks back during start up and knocks the prop and nut loose. I don't think I'm over choking it...Just in case, what's the proper starting procedure?

Try loosening the sensor screws and move the sensor all the way to the end of the slots in the direction of prop rotation, retard the timing. Choke it till it pops and then a couple more flips with choke on, then choke off, 3 or 4 clicks throttle, flip 3-5 times should get it going. But get the propshaft tight by putting some rope down in the spark plug hole to softly bind up the piston, double nut the propshaft and tighten it about as tight as a spark plug. Have to stop the kick back first though by retarding the timing. Jody |

If anyone is interested I have a perfect ignition and 9 brand new sparkplugs. I went with two 35%ers and I am cleaning out some left behind items. PM me with any questions.

Hey Ken, Still never got to see the Stearman video. I still do have my stearman sitting, but it is 90% together and that makes it unshipable if I sell it ( the wings are so big ). I have been just waiting for the right time and buyer to pick it up.
