Mine does that same high idle thing and then drops really low and stalls. but it idles very high at start up, even if i taxi around a bit it wont come down. so as a result i lower the idle because i dont want a fast landing. but then on aproch im bliping the throttle to stop it stalling. It also has an ocasional misfire sort of thing when flying around but it hasnt caused it to stop, yet.
NKG plug, rcexl ignition,

I have checked the gaskets but i'll check again.

Is the ignition module case made of some kind of special RF blocker? I was wondering because I cracked a piece out of the bottom of the case. Does the case serve some other purpose? I have another ignition module, but I was wondering if the cracked one is still flyable??

It's made of nickle plated plastic and yes, the plating is for RFI supression. Range test it with the engine running to see if gives off any RFI.

Vibration resistance, and keeps the kids from poking around in there with screw drivers.

I just found this...It must be from CRRC's high-budget, top secret lab. I don't think the second vid shows a 26gfi, though...

Good numbers.

Just a followup to many peoples experience with this little engine.

I got my CRRC 26cc last fall as my first gasser so only test ran it a bit, only to find out some quality issues

1/ the pulse channel was not drilled in the carb body ( I suspect the body was for a remote line pulse type) anyway Idrilled that through.
2/ the base of the cylinder had a gap where it bolted to the crankcase as the front and rear halves did not meet equally, I filed the case flat and reassembled the engine with motorcycle RTV sealant.
3/ the ring takes forever to seat so there is not enough compression to hand start , I used an electric starter to get it started the first 25 times.

Now it runs perfectly, although not the smoothest ever, it has lots of power in my East RC 72" Yak, pulls straight up as far as you want at 1/2 throttle, Turns 8900 rpm with a 17X6 APC or 16x8.

Not yet, I'm working on it though.

BTW, the engine in the second video is a GF26I V-2, same top end and carb, different crankcase and crankshaft designed for profile planes. Will be out in a couple weeks, I've been testing one for a month or so and it's performance is the same as the regular 26 but has less vibration due to the new crankshaft design.
