Alright, I'm gonna try to shove the CRRC 26 into a Hangar-9 Frenzy. I'll tell y'all how it goes...

Are you sucking the fuel into the carb? It seems that the engine does not pull the gas through the line right away. Have noticed this on mine. Using the starter seems to get it into carb quickly. Pulled the tank and checked the lines and made sure the clamps on the lines were tight for no air, etc. Still seems slow. Will be going out on Labor day and see how it goes. Keeping fingers crossed!

Hey Anderson, good luck with that. Won't be flying until this Monday. Will post on how the 540 does. Later, Joe

The CRRC 26cc is very poor on compression when new,
1/turn it over with the ignition OFF and choke on and your thumb or finger over the mouth of the carb until you see fuel pulled all the way to the carb and then a couple more turmns,
2/use an electric starter with the choke on and ignition on til it kicks ( it will probably run for 1/2 a second.
3/ take the choke off, ignition on and spin it with the electric starter, t should start right up. aslight click up on the throttle will help here as well.

Following this procedure mine starts every time.

Once it is worn in a bit with about 4 galoon of gas you can get enough compression to hand start ( flip)it.

Well, this is the first flight today of the 540. The engine quit over the corn and guess what???? Yours truely waded in about 200' and with my buddy working the servos, found the plane unhurt and ready to go again. A slight malfuntion of pilot error in not securing the fuel line in the tank. Oh well. Wet, dirty and happy to find plane okay, went and flew again after several modifications.

Sweet! Re: CRRC Pro GF26I

After a successful second maiden flight, the pilot and observer take a slight bow to show their respect for the plane. The vertical is almost unlimited and this plane has the power it needs to get you out of trouble if needed. Very happy and like a couple of posts before, choke engine and full throttle, no ignition and flip prop about 6 times. Carb wet, go to quarter throttle, ignition and you have it running with a few more flips. Ran the engine rich and over the next few flights, will start to lean it out. Very happy with engine and performance of plane. A big thank you to Ron at Southeast Engines and my buddy and fellow rc'er Robert.

Picture of the plane ready to rock and roll. Running a 16 X 6 Bambula prop for break in. Need to get a spinner to finish this plane off. Anyone know what size thread in the shaft for attaching spinner? Tried a 4mm, but no cigar.

Hmm, I thought the end of the propshaft was drilled for a 4mm x .70 bolt.

BTW, I just bolted the engine into the Frenzy, and if the plane was any narrower, I'd have to use a glow motor. lol

The end of the prop shaft is drilled and tapped for a 4mm x .7 bolt but they are not very good at cleaning out the threads, use a tap to clean the threads out and a 4mm bolt will work fine.

Thanks Jody and Anderson; I thought it was as well, but when I tried it, it did not feel right. Will clean out the threads. Dropped an email to Dave Brown on spinner. Not sure if he has a Bambula prop to use as reference?

Thanks again, Joe
