Just got the engine today. Really impressed with the quality of the top end. Looks like there is plenty of cooling fins for pushing this motor to the limit. Check out the photos, engine weight with ignition and muffler 2.4 Lbs, 38.4 Oz. One thing I did take advantage of, is the threaded crankshaft for a spinner bolt.

That little engine shure looks good on your airframe Mattbogy. When you going to fly it??

Hope to post pics of the 26 on my Laser tonight. It has over 34 hours on it and is ready to fly as it will ever be. Been burning the midnight oil to finish for this week end but mother nature is threatening rain.

Got the engine installed and ready to rock. Not much left of the cowling. Notice the exhaust cut down to prevent firewall damage on hard landing from exhaust getting caught after nylon bolts break away on gear. One improvement that could be made is the angle of the spark plug as it will definetly break on impact. Having had a 26cc engine previously installed took out all the guess work.

The tach doesn't lie.........8,000 RPM on Xoar 18x6 prop 1,600 idle. Awesome!!! It's about time someone came up with an affordable engine for the 90-140 size 3D airplanes. Idle is smooth and reliable. Transition is instant and in my opinion better than with a Saito 180 or YS 140 Sport. The powerband is smooth and this engine without any doubts will 3D this Showtime 90 at 9.75 Lbs. This engine allows the first time gasser pilot to purchase an affordable airframe and engine. Hope to post some flightline photo's and possibly video soon. I will definatley purchase another engine as soon as they become available.

Yep, the little GF26 will most definitely 3D a 90-1.40 airframe. It runs great with fast transition and smooth idle. I didn't get quite as good a number with 16X8 as you got, but then Jim didn't tune my engine and I am not as good a tuner as he is.

Was hoping to fly tomorrow but here it is Sat afternoon and still thrashing this new kit. You definitely have an advantage of a flying airframe that already had a 26 in it. I have to cut and fit all the pieces to get it together.

Sad thing is I couldn't use those pretty blue spacers that came with the engine as my cowl to fire wall distance is 150mm or about 6 inches from prop hub to firewall to clear the cowl. If the cowl was like an extra or such I would have just cut it off shorter but it balloons out bigger the farther away it ges from firewall so had to go to town to round up some longer spacers as every combination I had in stock was too short or too long.

Here are some pics of how it looks on the Laser. This engine is so small in "footprint" there is plenty of room to fit inside the cowl. Will only have small hole for velocity stack on left side and small hole for exhaust on right side next to large hole for cylinder head in middle.

With the stormy weather we are having this week end probably not a disaster to finish it right and fly in better weather.

Maiden flight.....will clean up video and when I get a chance. Will get more aggressive when the monokote patches stay on the wing bottom. Just wanted to get some actual footage online. This engine is amazing!!!
