| Flyin' Around ![]() | I'm not sure what the correct name for the part is but it's the metal ARM that is fastened to the throttle shaft and has a ball on it for the throttle push rod to attach to. This arm is attached to the throttle shaft with a screw and is designed so it will fit in the shaft only one way(can not be 'indexed or turned even a slight amount due to the slot in the ARM). Does anyone make an arm that can fit on the shaft at a different position. The way the arm is now allows the most control if it is pulled-pushed from the left side of the fuse at an angle to reach the carb which is mounted on the right side of engine. I have a straight shot at the throttle arm right down the right side of the fuse, but I think I'd have better control if I could get a different throttle arm. I have tried the throttle push rod in both positions. Now I have the throttle pushrod on the right for a straight shot but then the throttle ARM is closed it is at about at a 90 degree from the pushrod, and when full open the ARM is almost pointing straight down the pull-push line of the throttle rod toward the servo. The motor has not been started yet (8 degrees last couple of days). I'd appreciate any input from you guys. This is my first gas plane and is 99.9% done and has not flown yet. Motor is a FPE 2.4. |

| if it ain't broke don't fix it ![]() | why not try a servo arm??...you know the ones with multiple arms like a spider. why not try and made a new arm out of alloy??....it shouldnt be too hard to make. i think if you contacted walbro themselves they should know where to find a suitable arm too. if its the arm im thinking of yes you can turn it 180 degrees and get a totally different arm position. maybe perhaps make up a bellcrank arrangement??....but this would introduce "slop" as it wears. just my ideas on the subject....take them or leave them lol cheers craig |
