Help! FUEL LINE SETUP

Im new to the gassers this being my first,I purchased a Venom 45cc.When i looked at the carb i see the fuel inlet on top and on the bottom theres a nipple with a piece of fuel line on it with a priming bulb on the end of that.I thought this was the vent.If you use a primer bulb wouldnt it go in between the fuel line coming from the tank and the fuel line going into the carb?Maybe they stuck it there for convenience? Can someone help explain how i set up the fuel lines. Also if i use an easy fueler valve does this mean i can get away with only 2 lines coming from the tank? One vent and one fuel line?

On most engines I have seen the carb only has one nipple. The clunk in the tank goes to this nipple because it draws the gas which runs the engine. The fuel tank then has a line coming out that is rapped around the tank once and left unplugged somewhere in the cowl; this is the vent line compensating for the drop in pressure caused by the gas line. A 3rd line coming out of the tank used for filling and draining the tank is attached to a fuel dot on the outside of the plane to make this filling process easier. I think that this is the most practical way to do it. I imagine you could use the vent line for a fill line as well and get away with only two lines but I like having a clunk in the bottom of the tank for my fill line so I can also empty the tank and I don’t know how a clunk would effect the vent line because the vent line normally opens at the top of the tank and does not have a line extending too far into the tank.

Hope that’s not too much and that it helps.

I hooked up the fuel line to the carb and squeezed the bulb wich sent gas threw the fuel line and into the carb, ok so its the primer but do i need that?the bulb is gonna fill up and start pouring out the other nipple on the bulb i wonder were your supposed to run the overflow line to?Back to the tank?that would make 4 lines.

All you need from the tank are 2 lines, One will be the vent line, inside the tank set it up just like a glow tank but instead of hooking up to the muffler, make a loop behind the tank and then run it out the bottom of the cowl. The other line goes to the carb, put a "t" in it and install the fuel dot in the "t" line. This allows you to fill and drain from the clunk. Leave the easy fueler alone, just a place that air can leak into the line.

This sounds like a simple secure setup,so what do i do with this primer bulb coming out the bottom of the carb?Do you plug it up?

??? beats me, never saw an airplane engine with a primer bulb. I guess that will take some experimentation. I wouldn't think it was needed. Normally you just choke it and flip the prop to prime.

Lightbulb Re: FUEL LINE SETUP

What works normally, does not work all the time. Specially with an engine one has no clue about. I am sorry if my peers have rediculed your engine but I think I know how to solve the problem. First, it would be interesting to see the primer nozzles. Second, if indeed you see two import nozzles, I see two.

To answer your last question. I suggested running the primer bulb line line to the cowl and close it off with a fuel line plug. That way you are able to access it. You could just run a short line about 1-2 inches and close it with a fuel line plug. Except for the vent line, make sure the lines are plugged by some method before starting. Hope you like the whole mental picture thing helps.

Thanx Black Bird thats the exact setup i came up with last night i mounted the primer bulb to the cowl with a short piece of tubing and a plug so i can use if needed, then mounted the vent around the tank and out the bottom, and a fuel line to a t with a dot and to the carb.Like the pic lol Thanx for backin up the venom im sure itll make a good first engine

Looping the vent line around the tank is to break a siphon....right?
