Hey flyguy ,
I use a lot of Engel carbon props .They are German www.engelmt.de
you have two dealers in the States , Cactus aviation in Tucson & Hoverhobby in Fl Tel 407 688 1161 . Engel have a policy that if you buy a prop and it does not work you can exchange it for another with about 95% of the value of the original prop against the new one. These dealers might do the same - it is worth the try !

FLyguy....just read through this.. and something doesn't sound right...
My DA50 with slimline was MUCH quieter.... and with a wood NX prop it is at or over 7000 rpm....

6400 doesn't sound right.....

as someone else mentioned... is it possible to find another meter?
But that being said... if you and the neighbors think it is too loud...then it is

Slimline has one of the bigger cans on their pitts mufflers making them one of the "quieter" pitts mufflers out there, but still alot louder than a pipe or cannister. I have next to no prop noise with my Mejzlik 22x8, so I'm mainly dealing with engine noise with my DA50.

I have a Snuffler from Jtec on my ZDZ 80 Rv, it is quietier than a DZ 50. Still have a nice sound to it as well.

Anyone have an idea of a good prop that rips on a DA50? I am currently running DA50 with KS1060 pipe and mejzlik 22x8 prop. It revs 7400+ rpms on the ground but won't rip at all in the air.

This is good at my home field where we don't want to make noice, but for example in the freestyle competitions arranged at the local airfield I would love to get some prop ripping sound from my plane. Right now the music is all I can hear during the freestyle routine and the guys with the DA100's are ripping like crazy. It adds a certain cool factor imo.

I have mejzlik 23x8 lying around but have not tried that out, because I believe that it is even quieter than the 22x8 and I lose some top speed aswell because of the lower rpm it turns..

Any ideas?

Mejz props are quiet, if you want to rip a prop with that 50, get yourself an NX or XOAR Sword prop. That'll do it
