Default 3W 28CS choke question & Ign. question

Any one running straight li-ons 7.4 v to their 3W Ignitions? The Ignition is Rated for 4.8 - 8.4 volts and most of mine, if not all my li-ons, charge rate up to 8.4V.
Any issues ???

And my 3W 28CS has Walbro Carb, but the choke does not have detents for open and closed position. And with the spring off the choke arm, it moves real easy. It appears that I would hook the spring back on (which holds it in the open position) or put the choke on a servo or change the carb some how.
May I ask what others have done?

Ward

You can run a 2 cell li-ion no problem. The carb setup on that engine is actually kind of neat. The choke lever pushes under the throttle lever. Once the engine is choked then all you do is bump your throttle and now the choke will pop open from the sping loading.

Garrett,

Nice avatar .....

Do you remember how you set up the choke on the Pitts? push/pull from the front, bottom? Mine does have the same choke-lock to the throttle.

thanks, Ward

Ward, I run a ball like to the lever with a 4/40 rod going to the front of the cowl by the intake. I found some metal balls that I drilled a hole through then soldered them onto the 4/40 rod so I could push it.
