Default DA 85 Ignition Switch Question

Hello!

I am powering a new bird with the new DA-85. I am running the new Smartfly Power System Sports Plus with 2 2600mah Fromecos and a pin flag/charge switch. The ignition I am plan on running a Fromeco 2600mah with a SF Ignition regulator and a pin flag/charge switch.

What setup is everyone doing on the ignition to maybe make things a little simpler. Smartfly told me something about running thru the expander but I do not remember. I really would hate to have holes for the pin switches and holes for the charge ports.

Also Fromeco is on backorder for the batts and I am seeing more of the lipo products.

Please any suggestions?

Thanks,

Perry

Doesn't that PE Sport have a built-in smart-fly optical ignition cutoff? That cutoff can be used as your switch, so you don't have to have the switch on the ignition regulator. As for charging, just get some Ernst charge ports. I also believe that that PE sport also has a built-in smart switch, which just requires a pull-pin switch extension. If so, then all you would have poking out of the fuse is that one pin switch, and however many charge jacks as you have batteries. doesn't get much simpler...

As for batteries, the lipos are an option and you can use smaller capacities to save weight.
Another option is A123 batteries. Each cell is 3.3 volts, so a 2S pack at 6.6 volts wouldn't require a regulator. A 6.6V 2300mah pack weighs about 5 ounces, which is practically no weight penalty compared to a 2600mah Fromeco+regulator. It also has the advantage of being able to push 60+ amps and maintain voltage - the Fromeco is limited to 15 amps, therebouts.
