Default Does the carb need a rebuild

I have my plane out in the garage baking while its going into this hot spell. Well anyway I pull one of them down yesterday to check out my throttle curve and the gasser would not start. Its not pulling fuel from the tank anymore. I pulled the tank apart and rebuilt it only to find out it still not drawing fuel along with sitting a cup of fuel beside the plane to try to draw fuel this way. So anyway is this telling me I need to install a rebuild kit on my carb?

Default Re: Does the carb need a rebuild

If all other consideration have been checked, take the carb apart, and clean it. Be careful not to tear any gaskets, or seals. If you know what kinda crab it is, and can get a rebuild kit that good as well. Don't mess with internal adjustment. Just clean it out. If it ran fine before, I bet its just clogged up inside from sitting.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention. While you have it apart, inspect the seals for rips, tears, pin hole etc.. Compressed air is a useful tool for cleaning carbs.
