Default Da 50 Wont kill with throttle

Broke my throttle linkage today and the motor wont die. i was running it on the ground (new muff and playing with the needles)and with the throttle fully closed the motor spins 2100. when i shut off the ignition and she quits I get a little puff of smoke out between the black riser plate and the crank case... topside with the diaphragm plate. perfectly out the center where it meets the case ... seems to me i might have blown a gasket there or is this the norm?. also noting my whole carb assembly is 180dgs as pictured in the attachment. i did not rotate it. im gonna to call Da in the morning. but any thought would be appreciated, since sending it in is really gonna mash my season.

Hello
Yes, it sounds like the gasket is shot and there is a major air leak. Give our office a call and they will get some gaskets out to you as well as answer any questions you may have about about installing them.
