Default 3W 106 igniton hook up help needed.

I have a Cactus S.S. 106. I want to know if i can use a 2400 Fromeco 2cell to power it directly, but through a SmartFly Opti-kill....

In other words.....

2 cell Fromeco into the switch lead of the Opti-Kill with the Optikill output to the power lead of the igniton....of course no regulator, this ignition is not supposed to use one, as it is built in.

I am just wondering

A: can the Smart fly handle the 8.4v fully charged Fromeco, and

B: Is the internal resistance of the Smart fly output going to mess with the ignition...this being fact that is does not like regulators internal resistance.

What are you guys using to power and operate your 106's" ignitions??

I assume this is the newer ignition (4-color wire).

If so, run the battery without a regulator and you can run it first through the optical kill.

I have 3 planes all using Smart-fly and Electro Dynamic kills with 2 cell LIONS (4800 7.4V) ran this way with no problems

Cool, I was a little worried the Opti-Kill would cause a problem with an unregulated Li-ion.

Awesome.

1/3 Super Cub with a 3W 106 will be a kick in the fanny.

I am running Fromeco 2 cell 2600 mAh with smartfly optic kill in a 3W106 new ignition with a fail safe fromeco badger switch in between, no problems.
