Default Red Line Oil

Is anyone using Red Line Two Stroke Racing Oil in their gas engines?

I recently called DA to ask if I should use Amsoil 50:1 or the 100:1 variety. Two different DA reps to me that if I had to use Amsoil, go with the 100:1, but they said that their tests (only on DA engines) showed that the Red Line Two Stroke Racing Oil mixed at 40:1 had substantially less buildup of carbon than all the other oils.

I used Redline with my First Da-150 about five years ago with BAD results. An from what Dave told me back then was I wasn't the only person that had bad results. Although DA fixed my Engine Dave said don't use Red line.

Hello
Early on we had few problems that with engines running Redline. While we really liked how clean the oil was and the lubricating properties, but we were not ready to recommend it to customers. Some of the problems were later traced to a needle bearing supplier. We have been running it a lot for the last 2 years with very good results.
No arm twisting from us to use it. 90% of the oils on the market work fine when the oil is mixed properly and the engine is tuned correctly.
Thanks

Its a fair oil. The only oil I really like is their gear oil. It is shock proof and wonderful stuff.

Redline Racing two Stroke
tho they have other blends - this paricular one works fine in model airplane two stroke types
Mix it according to your use - generally 32-1 to 40 to one is fine.

I've been using Redline Two Stroke Racing oil for about the last 3 years or so at ratios between 70 and 80-1. Good stuff. Any decent motorcycle shop carries it. They also carry Motul 800, another good oil for our engines.

I've been running redline in my DA-50R since the beginning (8 gal or so). I have used it in MX racing for 20 years with great success so I wasn't surprised when it worked so well in the DA.

I run it at 40:1

Motul is also great oil.

Here is a list of my favorites:

RedLine
Yamalube 2R
Castrol Racing A747
Maxima SuperM
Motul 800V

Oils to stay away from:
BelRay H1R (major carbon build up)
Klotz supertechniplate (Ring sticking from carbon and varnish)
Maxima 927 (good oil but high levels of castor will create varnish)
