I just filled up a gallon of fuel and mixed the oil and so on... I took my 30% yak with the DA 50 and it started like normal, but while i was flying the throttle transition was very bad. I noticed this when i went for a stall turn, then i was recovering it and i gave full throttle to get some airspeed and it took about 3-4 seconds to respond. Also when i went in for a hover the same thing happened and the plane dropped because of the throttle transition was so slow but luckily i got out of the hover. I just want to ask why is it doing that, what should i do, and has this happened to you guys? Also i know that on gassers the transittion is a little slower than nitro, but this was wayyyyyy toooo slowwww. thanx

First of all best way of mixing the oil is poor the oil in the gas can and then poor gas. Throttle responce should be way faster than any glow engine that you have had so you do have problem if it's not your throttle servo, you maybe very rich on low end or both high end and low end. You need to check this on the ground before you fly. If you let the engine run for 30 seconds and then jam the throttle and your engine did hesitate that means you are rich and lean it out the low end until when you jam the throttle it wants to die then back out 1/8 of a turn if the engine is broken in or 1/4 if it's new. Remember make all adjustments about 1/16 of a turn at a time and kill the engine for re-adjustment and do it again.

Absolutely if you have too much oil you will end up having the same problem and even a faulty spark plug What oil did you mix and how much per gallon? How new is the engine? |

the engine is pretty new, not broken in yet, and oil is pennzoil with the same amout as what the DA 50's manual says.

If the engine is new you shouldn't mix more oil than 32:1 ,meaning 1 oil and 32 fuel that makes 4 oz of oil per gallon of fuel/ If you are running synthetic you should be within 80:1 upto 100:1 depending of number of times you fly everyday. if you fly a lot I would do 80:1 for engine to last a little longer, otherwise 100:1
