If you go by your picture make sure you have a hot plug like a O.S. #8. Second, it sounds like your high end may be rich give it a couple clicks lean and try it again. Also you may want to consider adding a perry pump to it, pretty simple tap the back plate with a nipple and you are on your way.

Your carb could change settings just by having more humidity in the air or temps. I pretty much adjust my carb everytime I fly the 160. It is not really a set and forget deal. Even the gas engines need to tweek here and there from time to time. Yours sounds more like the high end is too rich only adjust a couple clicks at a time.

Not sure what % nitro you are running but I have had the best luck with 15%. The os 160 does not like anymore nitro than 15% IMOP

Mine likes the OS-F plug with the 15% green Omega fuel. It runs great with no problems, I fly it alot and I normally go through about two plugs a year, but it has great power.

I would unscrew the needle valve and reverse flush. Sounds like you picked up some trash in the NV when you ran the tank empty.

I would guess because he is new and didn't know any better? Cut him some slack.
