Hey, I got my Yak and I'm still engine shopping. I've been to your website but all I can get is a photo of the G62 lite. I would like a list of motors/prices that you offer and I'm interested in the mod that can take care of my lack of ignition coil. I may be more interested in the MT 50cc because this plane has no provision for tail mounted rudder servo(s).

Not much of a website, biut it was cheap..It's all on there, just takes some looking...
click on forum, look under Ignitions and/or engines...
5 pages of miscellaneous pictures in the General photos pages...
If you want to see what it SHOULD look like, go to tompierce.net and click on the 190 build thread under "sponsors"....

Okie Dokie. Sorry to bug you but I was 90% ready to do business. The web site has nothing to do with sale or promotion of your products. Someone asked what website to go to to buy the MT50cc, no reply. I ask for products and pricing and and get basically poke around on the site look for it. I did, and realize that every time I need to "go back" I have to close it out and start over again. I'm going to go to tompierce.net now and hopefully I have better luck.
Sorry if I come off annoyed but searching threads for products and pricing is a strain, I've been doing that for too long!!

Question Re: 50cc vs. zenoa 62cc??

Mounting g-62 to Giant p-51...

Posted 02-03-2008 at 07:28 PM by Brave
I'm in to process of mounting a G-62 to my "Top Flight" GIANT P-51. I have purchased the Gasoline Engine Mount from "Great Planes" to cut down on vibration and it lines up exactly with the factory installed blind nuts on the firewall......... this is good. The problem is however that the four holes predrilled by the factory, sit approx. 3/8" to the right, away from the center line, if your looking at the firewall. If I mount the engine to the center of the engine mount, the engine will be off approx. 3/8" unless I "cock" the engine via making two of the standoffs diff. lengths to center the hub, or I can just move the engine to the left 3/8" to center the hub, but this will make the standoffs interfere w/the bolts that attach the engine mount to the firewall. Hope this make sense to someone.... Thanks

Well, after 4 hours of watching the super bowl and much trial and error, mostly error, I fabed a new plate, standoffs, and mounting bolts that place the g-62 smack dab in the middle of the firewall and coweling. I am still waiting on my angled intake carb. from Toni Clark. That should keep me from cutting away my coweling so much on the left side. The right side however is a whole different story. The Slimline inverted pitts style muffler is not going to work. First off it hits the firewall and I can line up the holes to mount the darn thing. Next, even if I could mount it, it would require me to move the engine too far foward and then the amount of cutting I would have to do on the coweling would be nuts. Think I'll try the Bission to see if it's any better.

Tom Pierce doesn't sell my G62, he's using one on his FW190...He made me the page to show what he could do for a website if I wanted one....

Also Larry at LS Pro, Milton at Extreme Power, Adam at BCMA...
All these are in the US and have websites better than mine....
Tomyrc, C&H, and BCMA sell DIY kits...
REAL G62s come through Horizon Hobby and Dave's Discount Motors...

I've noticed everyone says to use a 22 in prop on the G-62 but they never mention which brand they prefer. I will be flying IMAC and potentially alittle freestyle if all goes well and would like to know which performs better with that type of aircraft. These props are expensive and I would rather not have to buy one of everybody's to find out.
Thanks

23-8 Xoar or JXF from LS Pro....
22-8 Menz....
Get rid of the stock muffler, it takes away about 600 rpm....

Thats exactly what you'll have to do. Buy a bunch of props to see which one performs the BEST on your particular airframe.

You can run just about ANY 22-10 prop on a G62. But they will all perform different on your airframe. What works good on a WH 28% Edge won't work the same on a World Models 28% Extra 300S or a BME Extra 330L.

Not the answer you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. You can pick ANY good prop MSC, Menz, NX etc.. and it will fly your plane. But if your asking for the perfect prop on your plane--you're just going to have to buck up and buy a bunch of them to try it out.

I spent a bunch of money in 2005 buying props. I probably have 35 or 40 props in 21-8 all the way up to 24-10. Every different brand. The Menz S 22-10 that flies great on my BME Edge 540 doesn't fly worth a darn on the World Models 80" Patty. Different airframes. Different weight. Different drag. Different shape.

There is no hard answer to the question. "Which prop will fly my plane best with a G62?" The right answer is to spend the $$ and buy a bunch of them.

I do plan to get rid of the stock muffler but still up in the air on what to use. I've purchased a header but nothing to hook to it yet. I was hoping to possibly get a canister type that would fit and make it a little quiter. Any recommendations would help.
