Help! DA 50

New DA 50 on a Aeroworks 260. DA states the RPM to be 6,300-7000. It only tachs at 4200 with a 23/8 prop. We have checked the gap and it is per factory. Fuel mixture is 50 to 1. Please help. Is this a normal RPM or is something wrong that we are over looking?

Have you checked the ign pick-up is plugged into the ignition with the correct polarity?

Did you try another tachometer to verify your rpm reading?
(4,200 rpm's is way low)

How many turns out are your high and low speed needles?

You aren't breaking it in on Lawnboy ashless (mineral based) oil at 32:1 for 2 to 4 gallons and using a 22x8 prop?
(Check the DA instruction manual)

Have you verified that your throttle servo is opening the carb. all the way?

You should be using a 22x8 prop on a new engine and use Lawnboy Ashless or Pennzoil for 2 stroke at 32:1 mixture until you have run at least 4 gallons thru it.
Other than that, make sure choke is full open and throttle is reaching full open also.
What ever you do, make sure you can get the RPM's up to at least 6500 for a good break-in

It was the ing. plug. I was wrong on the mix, it is 32 to 1 not the 50 to 1 I quoted. To everyone that replied a big THANK YOU. We are now ready to go fly.
