I also can't believe they made a video demonstrating their engine with a DA sticker clearly displayed on the cowl. Talk about copyright infringement. If DA sees that they'll be lucky to have a pot to you know what in let alone a business. It's a shame but a fact of life.
LMFAO! Thanks, I needed a laugh, being Monday and all.

I suppose Futaba will pick up the crumbs that DA leaves because the plane has a Futaba sticker but a JR radio.

Reality check: He's not representing it as a DA engine, the airplane has a left over sticker on the cowl, I don't think anyone is going to care.

If you watched the first vid, you would have seen the caption on the bottom
at the beginning: "Not A DA"

I have this XYZ-50 and the engine is just as Ron says it is. If you have a large plane and just want a good sport engine the XYZ-50 fits that Bill. I have 4 fifteen minute runs on mine with a APC-20x8 prop. I was getting 7200RPM. I plan to install the XYZ-50 engine on a skyshark P-40N. I will be using a Bambula 20x10 prop once I am finished building and I'll report back with some other RPM #'s then.

Finally, some numbers we can work with. Pretty damn good ones too. This engine could give a whole new life to 27% ARFs if it turns out to be durable. Let us know what you get with the 20X10. I have two or three guys at my field looking to break into gas via 27%. I'll have them take a look at these.

When I said "i picked up my engine on Sunday" what actually happened is, he handed me the engine and said test it out, let me know what you think, and pay me when you get the money. He has enough confidence in the engine to say "Here, try it and then buy it"

Now I just need to find an airplane....... IMAA legal, and a war bird, I'm open to suggestions

I don't do warbirds but I understand from guys at the club that CMPro has some nice ones. I believe www.Raidentech.com sells them.

Andy,

I have the XYZ-50 and so far I am very pleased with it. I am building a Shkshark P-40N and I tell you it is a bueatiful kit. 82" wing spin and a 45 to 62 gas engine will pull it thru the air very nicelly. Here is a couple of links to take a look see. I got mine delivered to my door for $400.00. Don't look at the price on the web page. Mike has been selling these planes for a while now at the $400.00 price on e-bay.

Here is a video of Ty's P-40. He change nose at, but it looks very nice. He is using a Brison 50 for power spinning a Zinger 20x10 prop at 7000RPM. The XYZ-50 should have just about the same power at the Brison 50.

So how do you think this thing would work out in a GP 27% CAP 232 (79" wingspan)?? I'm putting one back together with a new fuse, after a slight mishap with a runway with a hole in it, and might consider trying one out to replace the 43cc SPE I had in the plane. From your post it looks like it will spin a Xoar 20X8 faster then the SPE will and it has good power with that engine.

Al,

This is a very good engine for the price. I fell it will have a little more power than any 43 out there. I have a Fuji 43 and the XYZ-50 is stronger than the Fuji 43. I have a friend who has a Brison 3.2 and the XYZ-50 is every bit as strong as the Brison 3.2. I fly war birds so I don't buy an engine for doing 3d flying. I know this engine will produce 22+ lbs of thrust with a 20x10 prop. If your plane weigh's around 15lbs it my be a good engine for you?

I hope this helps.

I will trust your judgment and not hold you responsible if it doesn't work out. How's that???? LOL Hopefully it will prove out to be a decent engine as reported. For $250.00 it's worth a try. I've given away engines that cost more then that. LOL

I don't know how much your 27% weigh's, but if it is like the GP Cap232 this engine should do the job very well for you. I know a guy at our field who has the GP 79" Cap232 flying it on a Fuji 43 and I know the XYZ has more power than the Fuji and I think he XYZ-50 is a lighter engine as well. So the XYZ-50 shoul fly your 27% Cap very well.

You'll be very please with the XYZ-50 for the price
