I just realized where you live, I spent about a year in Millington going to Avionics A school.

You must have been stationed at the Millington Naval Base. Yep it is still here and my wife works at the base as a help desk technician. This is a great plase to live. We have a great flying field at the Millinton Barnstormers. I hope to be flying my P-40N by the end of the month. I just got the retracts from Century Jet and they look great. Do you have a XYZ-50?

I have a 26, though I could probably trade it for a 50 and pay the difference, I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. My first choice would be a corsair, I'm looking at the CMP 70 some inch one, RC Report did a review that I skimmed a while back, I may dig up the mag and see what they said about it.

I have a couple helicopter review projects on the table right now so its going to be a little while before I could devote much time to it.

I really liked Millington, I was kind of on hiatus from the hobby when I was there and never found the local field, I was more worried about school and girls at the time

I got back into it when I ended up in Pax River and was through with all my schools.

Andy,

If you are looking at the CMP 76" Corsair I would keep the 26cc gas engine. That plane was built for a 1.20 glow four stroke so the 26cc gas engine would be a better fit. The XYZ-26 would be a great engine go this plane and would fit into the round cowl very nicely.

OK, not trying to jump this thread.......
But if looking for a inexpensive 50cc, this is where I stand.
To start off, I have a CRRC Pro GF26I that is an awsome engine.
It has perfect transition, flawless idle, and screams on top ( SY 16 x 8 @ 8950rpm and an APC 17 X 6 @ 9450rpm ).
So.............
Ken Crane have just purchased and has been running the new CRRC Pro GF50I.
He has been getting numbers of 8500rpm with a 20x8 Dynathrust prop and 8000rpm with a 22 X 6 ( don't know what brand ).
WOW, that makes me think about how close it is to my DL-50 which turns a JFX 22 X 8 @ 7250rpm and a Vess 22B @ 7150rpm.
Well, needless to say I have one on the way and I can test it head to head against my DL with the same exact props.
Will be testing 20" and 22" props on the engine.
Granted it will be in the break-in mode, but I will be able to get some numbers from it. ( it will only get better the more it is run)
If it runs anything like my CRRC 26cc, I will be super, super happy.
Oh, by the way $250 @ the door. I also purchased the pitts muffler for $30 more.
Total : complete engine, stock muffler, and pitts muffler @ the door for $280.00

I'd lay even money that the muffler in the second two photos lasts all of an hour in the air.

I have the same brand ( CRRC Pro ) and looking muffler on my 26cc with over 30 ( 7+ hours ) flights on it and it's still perfect. Never even came lose.

The 50cc muffler is larger and does have a mounting tab that mounts to an engine mounting bolt where the 26cc muffler has no mounting tab.
The quality seems very good to me.
Only time will tell......

Why would you post that crap on a thread about XYZ Engines??? They having that much trouble selling them that they have to hijack other manufacturers threads?? Be sure and tell them the cost for the good EI because they were being shipped with fixed timing EI and the advance unit was extra.

In the four pages of this thread the are only two guys that have and run the XYZ 50cc.
rc3dr ( post # 11 ) and jstanton ( post # 28 & 32 )
In which rc3dr is a XYZ distributor.
I don't know if CRRC is having trouble selling their engines or not.
I was just giving my point of veiw on the engine that I bought.
I never said anything negitive about the XYZ engine since I never have seen, let alone tried one to give a report.
It maybe a super engine.
As far as Hijacking this thread with something other then a XYZ, in post #17 you told a guy to ( Put your money into a DL-50 from www.DLUSA.NET )
But, I see, you are the only one with an opinion.
( Harrys ) in the first post said that he never heard of a 50cc engine for $250.00, so I was letting him know that there are other option out there also for $250.00.
And the CRRC's do come with an auto advancing EI unit and I never had any issue with mine at all.
So before you start , know the facts.
Sounds like you might be a XYZ distributor and you just can't take the heat.

No before you start read the title of the thread! I don't see a single thing about show us your CRRC in that title. Why don't you jump over to the DA support forum with that and see what kind of welcome you get there.

Come on, in your post # 17 the guy you quote says he will buy one and if he doesn't lik it he will send it back for a refund, If it is good it will be the next craze.

You told him it isn't a 3D engine and to buy a DL-50.

He never said a word about a 3D engine.
For all you know it might be a great 3D engine in the right plane.

I'm done with the BS, But if you wish to ad, private message instead of ruining this thread.

Only because the guy that is the distributor already stated that this was not a engine for 3D but for warbirds and the guy wanted to 3D. I am also not a distributor nor do I have anything to do with any distributor. I simply think it's a bit rude hijacking the guys thread. I'm sure there are a few threads on the CRRC and I'm sure they are nice engines. Mentioning they sell for the same price is one thing but you did a full page sales spread!!! LOL
