connector is no good . Cut the beotch and solder it . I have seen 4 of these where the wire was over crimped and the wire broke.

The connector is great. It is a Andersen Power Pole. I use them in electric models and have for years. The problem is the wire is WAY too small guage for the I.D. of the APP contact. APP makes lots of contacts for different guage wire. 15A contacts, 30A contacts, 45A contacts and the guage of the wire for each gets larger.

To make a long story short, the connector is the 30A one and it has tiny wire and has to be crimped too hard to bite the small wire.

Solder it. I did on my DA.

Guess I won't agree with the crowd. Maybe using silicone in the end of the connector as a strain relief, but there is no really good way to strain relief the connector. That is an awful small wire and is a definite candidate to fatigure at the crimp. Soldering helps... but again... not a good way to strain relief. That type of connector is typically used with a much larger diameter wire. I would consider a mini-Deans with heat shrink to strain relieve.

I used the Dean's Ultra connector on rmine. Works great.

I cut off the plug/socket on the sensor and soldered the wires permanently.

Just switch it to a JR servo plug. It can handle the amps with no problem. Even DA employees use this plug.

benji, the wires break inside the connector, where it is crimped to the metal conductor. Cut the wires and solder them and save a plane.

Yes, it's the wires inside that would cause problem. Best would be like Kent said, solder them. BTW, I have been using the connector for 2 years now and I have gone through many flights but luckily that has never happened to me

Oh my, now yall all made me feel like I have to take the cowl off my yak and do the same thing. I just got the regular old connector zip-tied to the wood, guess I should go in there and fix it. Its been that way for about 5 gallons.
