I have the MVVS 58. (same motor) It is SICK. WAY too much for a 30% plane, and 1 pound heavier. Will spin a 24 x 8 prop at around 7500 rpm. I would say it would rock in a 31% or a really light 33% bird. But for the smaller WH and 28% - 30% I'd move on. I have it in a EBAY / TOC1 edge 540... and it made the plane almost 18+pounds. Pulls it straight up forever, but the wing loading suffered. But I do love it.. just not sure where to put it.

I just put one on my 30% aviation models yak... replaced my ZDZ50 the Evo has a ton of power and weighs in at 18 lbs 10 oz yes it is heavy but if you want "oh poop" pull out power you will definately have it. Will fly it more this weekend and better guage the wing loading......but it did not gain that much weight with the engine change

I think the EVO 45 magnesium is the motor for 30% birds. In fact anyone want to trade a MVVS 58 with about 2 hours on it (if that) for a MVVS or EVO 45cc???? Come on you know you do!!!

| Its a 30% TOC (rip off) edge 540. Don't get me wrong it flies fine... but if you want that simulator feather weight floating airplace and your at around 1400 sq inches...of wing... don't think its going to happen with the 58. As a motor the thing is SICK. starts great, idles great.. runs like a raped pig... (and mines barely broken in!!) But if it would just loose a few LBS. The 45 is way lighter and still has like 1 or 2 more HP than a DA 50. (No disrespect to DA, I own one and this its awsome as well!!) SO thats that!

I have a Bisson pitts. The motor is CRAZY powerful. it could probably spin a 25" - 26" prop. On a CAN this thing would be nuts!!

No disrespect to you or anything, I just hate reading statements like the one above, and it has nothing to do with me being a DA guy. If the E45 has 1 or 2 HP over the DA50-R, then it has 20-40% more power, that sounds quite unbelievable. I would like to see numbers that back up that statement, and not numbers from MVVS, Horizon, Evolution, or any importer or distributor, please. To make more HP than say the DA50-R, the E45 has to 'pump' at least the same amount of air/fuel mixture, and at the same rpm? Please show me how a 45cc pump can pump more than a 50cc pump at the same rpm. Yes, if the crank case volume is optimized better, but the DA50-R already has a fully optimized crank case volume. OK, now somebody will probably ask me why a DA50-R makes more power than a G62, at the same rpm. That's because the DA cylinder is designed and built with a porting that makes max HP at the speeds we turn them (6k - 7k), whereas the G62 uses a cylinder that was designed to make max HP at a higher rpm, and therefore people will often use 22" props, which seem small for that displacement engine.

| hi guys, i have an evo 58,,,,,it is powerful and it is slightly heavier than a da50 but it does swing a 24x10 prop at 6500 with a modified slimiline muffler. i dont read into figures that much and i think that if you bought any one of todays engines and put them into an approprate airframe, you will be on a winner. all i know is my toc yak has an abundance of power and 3d's real good with this engine. hovering and torque rolling are especially fine. i did think about putting in a lighter engine but i am so happy with how this plane flies i wouldnt change it for the world. aerowiz |

the mvvs/evo benifits from the new closed porting design and thats really the only advantage - this is taken straight from high powered moto x and ski mobile two strokes i have a DA50r, a zdz50ng and a mvvs prosport58 the two 50s are at 7000 with supersonic muffler 22x8 bolly - the mmvs at the same rpm BUT with a 24x10 prop - the 45mvvs spins 22x8 200rpm better than the da and zdz 50 - will be my next buy. i also believe that the zdz and the mmvs will outlast my DA - my DA has been back for bearings at 3 gals. I wiil not hesitate to also buy another DA/zdz/mvvs |
