I suppose my full-scale experience is screwing me up.

Thank U
For what its worth here's the way I make sure I'm not too lean during flight.

1) Never lean the low end so much that the engine hesitates when moving to full throttle
2) Never lean top end so much that the revs drop below maximum at full throttle
3) Always wait a few minutes for engine to reach operating temperature before final adjustments

Happy flying
Paul

I followed this process to the letter and I get a bad bogg off idle when I throttle. The only way I could get it to stop was richin the LN and Now it 4 strokes in the mid range.

Any advice?

I am getting the same thing but I have Grieves pipe on a DA 150 and I am getting the mid range bobble. Only have 3 flights on a new bird but have had the engine for a while. I would like to know the answer for that one also. Starts good over all runs good just a bad mid range dint know it the pipes add to it? I guess I need to play with it and see but I think it has to do with the high end which also affects the low end as I have been told. I guess time will tell.

The low effects the high and on certain engines and set-ups the high comes into play a lot sooner than others. Sometimes you just need to play with the needles a little bit.

I have spoken to da many times about this, and they say the hn only comes into play around 3/4 throttle and up. So if your peak rpm is good and does not drop at temp then you need to do some messing around with the low end neddle. as for kimhoff 43, how much did you enrichen the low, when doing this you only want to turn the niddle like a 16th at a time

Hmm, they must have invented some new carb. I have never seen an engine where the high starts feeding around 3/4, most of the time at 3/4 throttle you are just about at max rpm unless you have a throttle curve.
