Default Giant U Can Do and Zenoah G26

I have a GP Giant U can do 3D and a Hansen G26 on the way.
Has anyone matched up this airframe and engine? If so, was there anything tricky or unusual in the process? I'm thinking that fitting the cowl may be a problem. I ordered a JTec large wrap around Pitts style muffler for this plane/engine combo, and I'm wondering if I'll have to trim away half of the cowl.

Keep it slow, I saw one explode during a high speed 3d snap. I think the guy had a Brison 2.4 on it and the cowl was pretty much gone down the left hand side.

We're making the muffler now, if you think it needs to be modified to fit it would be a good time to talk to us so we can make modifications now.

Are there any recommendations about reinforcment of the airframe? I think I read that the regular size U Can Do has a weak landing gear mounting plate that needs to have some glass cloth added to the inside or it will rip out at the first landing. Is the Giant one the same?, or is it just good insurance to do this kind of stuff anyway? The reason I bought the plane is because I saw a couple of them fly at my club a couple of weeks ago and they seemed to fly and land extremely well.

I dont think that the airframe was weak, he just did one too many 3d snaps at too high of an airspeed. It is not designed to be flown fast. I did notice in the wreckage that the spars were capped with carbon strips. I thought that was a good idea.

The landing gear block on the 60 size was a potential weak spot, though I never had a problem with mine. I'm not sure if I went in and added some epoxy to the block or not, but if I remember right I didn't. The UCD is a great fun fly plane, though as mentioned above, not built for high speed maneuvers.
