Default Which 40% is best for 3D?

Looking for the best 3D kit in 40% class. I'm not concerned about IMAC. Only wanting a kit. Please only respond if you have first hand knowledge of the plane.

Tony, I hate to say it but you will probably be more confused after this poll. But my input is I have seen all of these planes in the hands of capable pilots and they are all good, pick the one you like the looks of the best and go for it. All the best on your decision.

Well I was fairly decided on the Dalton 260 and I know it 3D's great. But I already have a Troy Built 35% 260 so was thinking of something different. Some people have commented that the Carden 40% Edge is the ultimate 3D machine. Wondering if it is actually better than the Dalton.

For just 3D, I like the carden better than the Dalton. The Dalton is great, but the Edge is nasty.

The one that isn't listed is the JTec Radiowave 330 or 300. Great birds for 3D and it comes in a PAK( Partially Assembled Kit). So the foam is all sheeted. elevator,Rudder and ailerons are cut out and the Leading/trailing edges are done, And it cost less or the same as the kits listed.

Im nobody special here, But I had to answer that question myself late last year, I did some research of my own, I was wanting a 40% 260 for the new season. Cardens are A wonderful flying model, but require a ton of work to get them light, Daltons come with all the lighting done. I watched Kyle Woyshins fly his freestyle and thats all I needed to see. Ive Heard pros and cons of both, I truly think it comes down to what you like and your abilitys as well as how much time do you want to spend building in the shop. Im sure you be happy with what ever you get.
I have a 40% Carden Edge 540, I bought it from Brian Zang, And flies great, The only Disadvantage I think is that Edge has more coupling issues than Any Extra.

Just My $0.02.
Best

Don't forget that the bigger the plane the better it will 3D so dont forget about the Yaks. Just keep em light. I just went from a 40% 260 (aviation models) to a 3.3m comp Yak. The yak destroys the extra in 3D... no question. The 260 is the better all around plane though

The only problem with that statement is every single plane that Kyle flys looks like the greatest plane ever made. I make this observation after watching him at a fly in and he flew several of of other peoples planes, and they all looked like the greatest flying plane to take the air, even a heavy WH 50cc Extra lol

Don't forget about the Aerotech 40% Edge kit.

For all out 3-D only I like that Edge also.

None of the above.

Carden Cap is a 3D FREAK!

You state you do not want a pattern plane and you only pattern planes listed.
