DA 150 Turns out to be 52lbs http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=775 it would be a bad deal at $500

A DA150 weighs 7.96. A 3w170 weighs 9.05. And some of the planes are at 52lbs with a lighter motor? That's about 8lbs difference in weight. Is there 8lbs difference in set up to set up? |

This plane is heavy, but it is also HUGE!!! with 3200 squares, wingloading is no problem, and the Yak in that RCU review went a bit overboard on batteries, IMO. I think that with a 3W 170 on tuned pipes, CF upgrades, and a lightweight equipment setup, you could get it under 50 pounds. It won't be a rocket like some of the smaller 38 pound units, but that 170 will have no problem hauling it around...
