Hey guys, its plane buying season for me again! I was looking for a 35% airframe, and looked everywhere! For me the aeroworks extra 260 QB is the best pick! If you have any info on how this plane flys, if you like it or not, if you think i should go in a completley diffrent direction etc. please let me know! Btw, im mostly a 3D guy. thanks in advance, nick

oh, and if you have a comparison on how she flys with a DA 100 or zdz80 or 3W, that would be great too! thanks, nick

I flew my 260 on a 3W106 on cans all last year..........flies great, precision and 3-D. Reccomended CG is slightly nose heavy....use it for the maiden then adjust

I fly mine on a DA100 with MTW cans. Very nice flying plane, great 3D and good quality. You cannot go wrong with it, I used to own a Comp arf Yak 55 and I really could not choose one that flies precision better but the 3D aspect of the 260 blows the CA away. The only thing I do not like about mine is the scheme but hey it is an ARF so that is really not a complaint about the quality. Good luck, Jeff Williams

I have one with a 3W 106/ supersonic mufflers. It makes really good power on a PT Models 27-10. It is a very good flying plane. Very good value for the money too. It's a 3D beast and flies some very good precision. I've seen it fly with a DA-100 and even though it's good power, I would go with something more. Maybe a DA-100 with pipes, or 3W-106. I'm not sure how good an 80cc would pull this plane around. .It could be a little lighter but you definitely don't feel it. Flies pretty light. Any questions you may have feel free to ask, or shoot me a PM! ![]() Vic

There was a Vid on Youtube with this plane and a ZDZ super 80rvj... ehhh.... I'd go for a 100 or 106 instead. If somebody said to go buy a new 35% 260, it would probably be this one...

I've have about 60 flights on mine and I love it. Tracks well and does 3D well too. I got it ibt the air less than a week after I got it. A friend was so impressed by it, he bought the 42%er.

I love mine. Mine is one of the heavier first run planes, but I still built it down to 25.5 pounds with a BME 110. Newer versions are a bit lighter and sub 27 should be easily possible with a DA 100 and light equipment. The new 85 on a tuned pipe would yank this thing around quite nice, too. CG should not be an issue, as the tail section is where the newer runs saved the most weight, and I was able to get mine to balance with that BME no problem... Oh, mine is now a year old and looks good as new, and just got revamped with an E-conversion. I should have it flying again next week, and it is just under 27 pounds with the battery installed. |
