Default Recommendations for a utility type plane...

Hi Fellas,

I know this site usually doesn't address flying such as this, but....

My focus in RC is mainly on IMAC, but I thought it would be fun to build a plane as a utility platform. I want it to:

Be able to tow gliders
Have a perm installed internal bomb bay (candy, parachutes, etc...)
Have a camera mount
Be used as a 'trainer' (per se)
Be mildly aerobatic (rolls, loops, inverted, etc...)
Have a smoke system

I would prefer a kit, but an ARF with Ultracote would be OK (it comes off easy so I can put my own covering on it)

Gas or Glow, doesn't matter.

Let's hear your suggestions!

Thanks,
Dave

I liked the looks and the design is exactly what I would want, but he's out of them. I'll check this Telemaster.

You do not specify a desired size so I'm just guessing here.

Now don't laugh, this will sound weird at first but read the whole post.

Wild Hare has a 91" Cap 232, a very nice plane. I was looking for something to act as a testbed for new products, engines, etc. Something that is ultra stable yet able to decent aerobatics.

I took a Cap and raised the wing up so it's positioned about like an Edge 540. I call it a KAP, an acronym for Knock Around Plane.

The fuse is cavernous and has a flat floor, so installing a bomb bay or a trap door would be ultra simple. Same for mounting a camera or pan+tilt mount.

The cowl is huge so mounting almost any engine is a cinch. It has plenty of wing area, strong sheeted foam wings, and it flies like a trainer yet will do 3d stuff just like a Cap. Glider towing would be very simple because you can put plenty of power in it.

The KAP sounds like the way to go. All in one airplane you can hover over your buddys airplane on the flight line and drop candy on it and get a inflight picture of him as he kills you. SWEET
