Illusion nearing completion.......

Yes it certainly is!!!! My Eagle Aviation Illusion 70" bipe is nearing completion!!!!!!!! What do I have in it........ Well, lets see........... 3W 80xi, Johnson muffler, Xoar 26x10, all JR equipment(4-9411's, 2-8411's, 2-3421's, 1-8611a, and a 341 for tail wheel steering!!!), FromeCo batteries, FromeCo regulator, JR 2000 Rx Synth., all custom length extensions.

When Frank designed this plane, I knew it was a MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!! That was MANY MANY moons ago!! When I saw this airplane on here, I kept tabs on it. And when it come up for sale, I jumped on it to get it!! Well, need less to say, I have it. And outside of a face lift, I have gone thru it all!!! New servos, new engine and mount, new Rx, batteries. All I have left to do is run pull pull cables, make elevator pushrods, mount the fuel tank, ignition pack, balance it, tidy it up inside, and install a pilot figure who just so happens to have rather large "EYES!!"

I second that Bunky, Hell of a nice looking Bipe. Did frank do that back in the mid 90's? The face lift looks awesome. I Always like that color of blue. Also much more motor choices and HP for sure from back in them Days.

Thanks for the compliments guys. No facelift done!!!! I hope it will look better when direct sun light hits it!! What can ya do, got a cheap-o light above the airplane, plus the flash.

When/if I plan on doing a face lift on it, I will document it here. Not sure what I'll do to it to make it stand out like my 35%'er......... But I know it will have to be OVER THE TOP!!!!!!!!

If memory serves me correctly, Frank designed this plane back in the 90's, possibly around 93??? So, yes, this plane is an ANTIQUE!!!!! Kitman has one in the bones at his place, and trying to twist his gorilla style arms into finishing that bird up!! All he really has to do is cover it!!!!!!

Porc, I think that it is a Royal Blue. I absolutely love that color Blue!!!! The hex driver was only there for set up purposes. I will be sure to use an 8-32 bolt and locknut, front and rear!!!!

You got that right TPP!!!!! Lots more choices on engines today, than back 15 years ago!!! I know that he ran 4.2's, but not sure which one. Probably a Precision Eagle.................
