Are the wings built up or sheeted foam?

I can tell you that there is likely no way to get an ARF plane this big in at under 38 pounds unless dedicated weight-saving techniques are used. It is most definitely going to take: single 8711 or 9156 servos per elevator half two of the same on the rudder instead of three dual servos per aileron (looks like that is already how it's set up) lightweight batteries - meaning not nimh's and not 5200 li-ions. More like dual 2100 lipos or dual 2300 A123's on Rx and a 1400-1650 4-cell nimh on the ignition. stock mufflers CF or no spinner at all no pilot figure a few lightening holes here and there Following that, I bet you can get in the 38 pound range... | ||||||||||||||||||

Bodywerks: yeah I did not go and try to save a lot of weight but nothing extravegant either. The plane has all factory hardware except titanium links, all 5955tg's ( 2 on rudder ) w/fromeco batts( 2-4800 , 1-2400 ), smart-fly regulator & power expander, carbon prop, fiberglass spinner and pilot, DA 100 w/stock muffs - no smoke. doesn't need all that batt but they can go into a 40% later. I understand its hard to keep production weights consistent as balsa grades vary constantly and balsa weight can vary with humidity also ( humid here in OK ). I'm, sure I could kill a pound or so by going all carbon on tubes and gear. |

I fly a 37.5 % yak factory hardware manual says 38 to 40 pounds so I'm guessing 40 pounds.I fly at 7200 ft and this thing defies gravity hovers no problem DA 150 std muff. So i wouldn't sweat over 2 pounds. If it lives up to the standard of the 260 you will love it

Congrats to Rocco on another great aircraft. I'd really like to see this in the same scheme as the 75cc Extra with the red/black/white and checkers. That would be hot! I also agree that an Edge 540T and Cap232 would be great next!

I can't wait until the're available... Have an engine sitting here ready to go, and a spot cleared out in the trailer. This will be my first 40% and I had a question about the batteries. I noticed that someone posted about using dual 2300 A123's on the Rx. Do you guys think that's enough? I've been flying my 35% Edge for four years on dual 1450 mah Nimh batteries with no trouble. I was planning to stay with dual 2500 mah 6v Radical RC packs. Just a little shy to the A123's as of now.

That's how I would set it up.

Rocco, Any chance of a new scheme in the near future? Something cleaner along the lines of the new 260 scheme or your python scheme?
