I'm in the process of buying a carden extra 260 in the bones. I'm primarily a 3D pilot and I never see anyone doing 3D with a carden 260. Anyone care to chime in with the carden 260 3D experience? Ian |

I don't have one but I've seen one do plenty of 3D and it does very well. You'll be happy with it I'm sure. If you want to do IMAC you'll be very happy as well.

How is it going ? I just got back from the field with my Carden 260. It does 3D very well. I built mine in a build thread here on FG. My Carden 260 project I have been flying it since the beginning of the year and I love the way it flies. I have mine balanced between the LE to mid of the wing tube. I am not complaining on how it flies at all.

Ian: When the 260 first came out from Carden, Mike McConville reported that it was better both in the sequence work and 3d than the Carden 330. The report may still be on the Carden website, I'm not sure. Primary thing I have heard is there is much more rudder authority. Keep it light, you will be very happy. Mike |

I own a Carden 330 and I've flown Jason Cohen's (fastford) Carden 260. Both are very good 3D machines. The 260 is alot more neutral than my 330 though. Both do just about every 3D maneuver you can think of, but the 260 didn't have as much coupling. I really wouldnt worry about 3Dability so long as you don't built it to 48 pounds or something... It's a very capable airplane. I can't really comment on any IMAC qualities because I didn't do much precision when I flew it. Wayne Geffon has been flying his in IMAC and says it an exceptional plane, so that should tell you something. |

Well if you think it is more neutral Jack, than I am fine with it. Fortunately it is in the bones, so I can do a few of my own touches to it and make sure that the throws are adequate for my needs.

Ian, you saw a 40% CA 260 at the Fort Bend fly in 2mo. ago. My buddy Bob had his red "BUDWEISER" 260 there, unless you didnt pay attention when it was up. As a matter of fact , you were standing right next to us on the lfight line, you were toolin @ with the Hybrid at that point. Pull the trigger , you wont be disappointed.

Still haven't flown it since re-balancing, but I think I got the balance pretty close to where I need it. I need to get a lighter tail wheel bracket of some kind to replace the anchor that is on there now and it will be where I want it.
