| The Flying Fish Flyin Around ![]() | Well I purchased a Hangar 9 Twist 150 and a BCMA-SPEC26 Gas engine for the plane. I'm wondering if anyone else has put a gas engine in one of these yet? Needed to complete-gas: 4-Channel Radio System with 5 servos 26cc Gas (EVOE26GT2) I looked at the recomended engine for the plane and it just didnt do it for me wasnt appealing. So i searched around and found this engine. http://www.bcmaengines.com/BCMA26.htm Wondering if anyone else has used the engine for this application or if i'm to be the first to put one in the twist 150 this will be my second gas plane. The Engine has been used in several planes 120 size. That are shown on the web site for the engine. So if you have a Twist 150 lets here about it. Havent seen any other threads on it. I searched but if there is one, would gladly do my posting there instead of starting a thread. I'm not sure what category it falls under but i would think it is big enough to be considered a small giant.

Just got one of these the other day, I've had fun with the other twists I've owned (40 and 60) but since selling off all my glow stuff haven't had one to fly for awhile. I've got an evolution 26gt2 to put in it. The manual was full of bull**** about just trimming the mount to make it fit, you would have to remove part of the mount's webbing too. I got some brillelli T-BAR aluminum mounts. First flight should be this weekend. I don't understand what was being said about not 3Ding with this plane. It works for me, some manuevers aren't the same as a YAK, or EDGE, sure but it will do them all. Just needs a little setup time to get there. I'll let you know how it flys after this weekend if you're interested! Maddog Joe

Yes lets here how it flys with the evolution 26gt2, which is the recomended gas engine for the plane i think isnt it? Have to go back and look a Hangar to see but that sounds right. I'm still waiting for my pitts muffler for my engine. and i'm going to have to make some serious modifications to get the engine mounted may have to cut the cheeks off. But i'm going to try and save them if possable, until then i'm just waiting before i do anything to it. ![]() Thanks for replying to the thread too. i was sure it would Die off didnt think anyone here was intrested in this plane. I have a 40 and 3d it all the time. Thats why i couldn't understand someone thinking it wasnt a good 3d plane.

Well, No Joy this weekend! Winds were cross at 20+ gusting to 30+. Not a good weekend for a test flight. I'll keep you posted when it does happen. MadDog Joe

Yes i post on that thread. But thought that it would be cool to have one here too. Some people dont use rcu and i actually like alot of the fetures of the flying giants alot better in there forums. So a 150 twist thread here is just another place for those who have them to chat about it.

I've been watching the RCU forum also, there is a good thread going on the 150 but it has slowed down. I recently bought a 150 but have not bought an engine yet. I want to go gas and have been looking at the 26GT but have not seen much on this engine. I will be real interested in what you think about this engine maddog. I understand it does a lot better with a pipe. You didn't say what you were hanging on it. This is my first jump into gas so I don't know much about these engines.
