I have a DA-50 that needs a new home. I've been "biplane curious". (Insert your own joke here.) What are some recommendations for a 50cc biplane? I've seen the WildHare Ultimate, but a Pitts style looks nice with the round cowl.

The Ultimate flies more precisely from my experiece. I have a GP Christen Eagle 2 and it's a lot of fun, just don't expect to do 3D with it. The GP Ultimate 160 is also a very nice model. I had one with a DA-50 and it flew really well.

Hello. I'm new to giant scale, and am looking for a big biplane. I really like the Pitts line, either the Special, the Python, or the M-12. Can anyone recommend a Pitts, 50cc or bigger? I know many of you guys are recommending the Ultimate, but I'm just partial to the shape and style of the Pitts. I'm lousy at 3-D, so I would be happy just doing scale/precision aerobatics. Does anyone have experience with the Cox Wings Pitts M-12 ARF, or the Aerotech Pitts Python? Thanks.

Wildhare has a very nice Ultimate. I am working hard to get mine finished right now. It will be initially powered by a DL-50. I am going to see if I can get away with analog servos (JR ST126MG) on the surfaces and use a digital (JR 8711) on the rudder. I hope to madien by the end of the month. |
