What kind of plane is this?

I just bought this plane from a pawn shop. It appears to be 1/4 scale. The fuselage measures 74". The wingspan (if I had both wings) would be about 96". The people at the pawn shop couldn't remember what kind of plane it is, and I don't have a clue either. Please look at the pictures and give me your best guess as to who the manufacturer is. It was pawned with only one wing so I need to find out who made the plane so I can look into getting another wing for it. Thanks in advance for your input.

I think it's a TR 260. Lanier use to make one but I am not sure if that is the same one.

Thank you. I will check into this further and see if there is a way to get a positive i.d. At least I have a starting place now. I will do a Google search for Lanier 260 and start educating myself. I have no experience with a plane of this size. All of my other planes are .40 & .60 sized glow powered planes.

I went to Lanier's website. The only TR 260 I could find was under a heading called "Early ARF's". From the picture it looks almost identical to my plane but according to the specs on their website the TR 260 ARF is much smaller than my plane. The wingspan is exactly 24" less than my plane, and obviously a similar difference in the fuselage length as well. Got any ideas? Would a larger version of the same design be called something else? Like a TR 340 or something?

Ace RC use to kit a 33% Extra 230 that was 96". It looks like one of those. I believe it was designed by Jim Van Loo or something like that.

I believe it's a 33% Ace Extra 230.

I could be wrong, but that's what the fuse is. I'm not sure about the wings though....

yes, they did an ARF and Kit of the 33% Laser. I think it was origionally a Godfrey design.

Let's see a pic of the cowl from the front. It looks to me like an Ace Extra 230. It is not a Laser, unless we can see a pic of the cowl from the front to confirm.

Extra 230...R/C Extra's, designed by Jim Van Loo and sold to Ace Radio..The wings have 2 plywood spar's that cross one another in the fuse and bolt through a fuse former if this is indeed what it looks to be, built several of them, Walt
