welp i took the plung and called tom at wildhare. i bought the 87 inch sokhoi.... man i hope its as nice as it looks, i have not seen one in person and this is the first time i have done this. i mean buy without seeing tom was a pleasure to deal with. he answered all the stupid and not so stupid questions i had. so now its a waiting game, and hoping it arrives undamaged by the shipping co . i ordered the yellow and red one. will post pics as soon as it arrives and will do a build thread if anyones interested. i did not order the hardwear pack. this will have a da 50 for power 8711 on the rudder 5955tg's for the ailerons and undecided for the elevator halfs. fromco wolverine switch for the receiver, and a badger for ignition. 2 1500 7.4 volt lipolys for the receiver and a 1400 nicad for the ignition< this may change. well thats all for now. anyone built one yet?? and no i did not do a search also i gotta say this is the very first A.R.F that i have bought that does not come with all the hardwear needed to build the plane. not shure if i like that or not... we will see

I picked up one that Tom had already set up a couple weeks ago. I've only got to get two flights on her but I like the way she feels. Nice plane! ![]() P1010035.jpg P1010036.jpg |

Not sure what brand it is to be honest with ya. I bought it like it is from Tom. It has a DL-50 for a motor. I wasn't to much of a believer of DL's until I flew this one. It's for sure stronger then my DA-50. As far as snappy. The wind was blowing about 25 mph when I did the maiden. and didn't really get a good feel for what it would fly like. It did feel more maneuverable then my 28% Wild Hare extra. This might also have the CG set farther back too though?.I never had the feeling like it was going to snap on landing. I'll know more after this weekend. 2007 SC IMAC is over now and I'll get to play with the Sukhoi this some. |

Here is a pic of mine. My lovely wife makes the picture I think!! Specs - DA50, KS Canister and header, 5955tg servos on all surfaces, standards on throttle and choke. It balances on back side of the wing tube and needs no input for inverted flight. I am using a BME 22x8 prop and boy is this setup quiet. Oh, BTW it weighs in at 17.5 pounds - no spinner or wheel pants. Actually flys very well and seems light on the wing at this weight. Any way, I will watch the build thread to see what and how you do it - enjoy. |
