Hello, Currently building and SD Models 30% Yak. Regarding the pull-pull cables, where do you exit the cables? There appears to be 2 different slots. One is directly under the elevator servo bays and the other is slightly further back. Also, do you cross the cables or run them straight back? Thanks - Jaketab |

Hey Jake, I have the 33% Sd models Yak and the pull pull exit holes are like right below or a little before where the stabs go in. I would suggest crossing the pull pull cables, at least that what I did, and put a little vaseline where the 2 lines cross. By crossing the pull pull cables, it gives you a more direct line to the rudder. Hope this help, Neil |

Thanks Neil, The problem I'm having with the 30% Yak, is the suggested location for the servo mount tray is too high for proper cable alignment. If I put the tray where recommended, the cables would exit and extend below the rudder. I don't like crossing cables, but looks as if no other choice. Another obstacle is drilling the hole in the rudder for the control horn rod. Because of the bevel in the rudder, it is difficult to align the rod straight. Any short cuts you know of? I almost got the 33% SD Yak for my DA-85, but the AW Extra was available first so I went with that. Turned out to be a great match. Jaketab |

Hey Jake, Yeah about the drilling into the rudder....That is what I did because I ran my cables to both sides of the linkage rod and had it attached by a Hanger 9 swivel link. As for any shorts, I don't know of any off the top of my head but I remember being in the same boat as your in with the alignment because it is hard. But what I did was I put in on a drill press and leveled it off and just drilled it. Luckly it came out good but I was really worried. And Jake, you said the servo mount tray is too high for the proper alignment in the exit holes?? How can that be, they precut you a servo hole and marked on the rudder with little red arrows where to place the rod so that the alignment between the cables and the rod is good. THe precut hole is probably too big for your servo so you have to make a little smaller hole and glue it over it. But as I said, they should have already marked where the servo and the rod should go in your airplane so everything is good Sorry I can't give you any good sorts cuts or anything but I hope what I said hopes somewhat, Neil |
