Default Pitts Python Finished

Well I found the time and parts (thanks dad) to finish up my pitts after getting my Extra 300 in the air. I have been waiting for one of these puppies sense I first saw one. It was a very easy and quick plane to put together. I was going to fly it today but too windy so plan on hitting the field hopefully tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think?!

Tight bro, this thing should be a blast. Let us know how the maiden goes.

Good luck!

It looks great, just make sure you have your CG right on 85mm, CG is very critical on the Python. It flies very neutral, slight push inverted and slight pull on landing. Precision is awesome and 3D is even better!! I should have a video the next good day we get here in New Jersey. I have 20 flights on mine and love it, I'm sure you'll love your's to. You should replace the dowls in the canopy before the maiden if you can, otherwise they will only last a couple flights then will start elongating the holes in the former. I replaced mine with carbon fiber.

I like that scheme also. I couldnt really deside which one I wanted because they both look good I think. Thanks for the head s up on the dowels... Mine seems to be nose heavy with the batteries placed in the turtle deck.... did you have to add weight to the tail?

That's one good looking plane! Is there a reason why the stabs aren't airfoiled but flat? Might have been tailheavy if the stabs where airfoiled

I finished mine the other day
I was going to use one a123 bat no regs for controls and a 2800 lion on ignition
1 8711 on rudder to keep it light
put the bats on turtle deck at 85 mm the nose fell like a rock
Now i have pretty much the same setup as you but I have 2 a123 batts on turtle deck, smartfly pro no regs, 1 rudder servo, ignition batt in front of rudder servo CG
is real close now
Balance would be my only complaint these a123s are big batteries don't no how anyone can balance this thing with light batteries
