just thought i would shre some photos of my new 'Razor Edge' Katana I had recently finished. Both planes were purchased from Skyline Aviation online.com from Phillip Barnett. I have been slowly plucking away on this build for about three months..just a little work done here and there. This past weekend I had taken her up on her maiden flight and and I am happy to report that she flies just as good if not Better than my other Katana. Both planes have identical set ups except for some minor changes; Seba C scheme (red, white and blue) -DA150, KS95 front exaust canisters, 70mm MTW flex headers, 28.5 x 12 Mej prop -5" lightened back plate Tru Turn spinner -4ea 8711 servos on the ailerons -2ea 8711 servos on the elevators -2ea 5955TG and 1ea 8711 on the rudder -2ea 3800 Duralite Li-Manganese batteries -1ea 2900 Duralite Li-ion battery -1ea Duralite Ignition Switch -1ea Duralite Powerbox Champion -1ea 40% No Limitz Pilot Razor Edge Scheme Same as above except for; -2ea JR Matchboxes -32oz Smoke Tank -2 blade 30x12 Mej Prop -4ea 5955TG on the elevators -3ea 5955TG on the rudder -1ea Heavy back plate Tru-Turn Spinner Both planes came out below 39 lbs and they fly fantastic. The new plane could be flown in competition as it it sits with no mixing. On the maiden flight, it required 1 click of down elevator trim to fly hands off. It had a slight pull to the canopy on long up lines, and a slight pull to the canopy on Left Rudder knife edge passes - right rudder knife edge passes wanted to roll out slightly to the right...mind you, this was very minimal and could be flown without mixing these out (but I will). Hope you enjoy the pics. Special thanks goes to....Krill Models and Skyline Aviation, Paul at No Limitz Pilots and Spinners, and Wayne Matthews from SewBusy Custom Embroidery. Hey Jeremy, Yes, I am really pleased with the Katana - flies very good lines, handles the wind really well, rolls very axial....I can go on and on. Next time we meet up at a contest, dont hesitate to come over and fly one of them, I am sure you will be pleased. Take Care. |

Hi Joe I don't mean to hijack your thread, but can you give a bit of a comparison of the ZNLine 330. I have just bought one half built and I don't know of anyone flying one or who has seen one fly. Or, Is Ron Storer on FG? Cheers Anthony |

Hey Joe, planes look really good ! Brendans plane according to the shipping info should be here today ! Going to be putting Greives pipes in his, glad you included the drop on the headers as I ordered the 70mm from DA today. Where did you get those round gromets to run wires through, also those rubber clip thingy's to clip the wires in on the sides of the plane ? What are you using for a dash board/instrument panel ? Im really excited about picking this plane up tomorrow and getting it home, its the same color as your first one in your pics. Im going to have to get one of those Skyline Aviation decals you had made up, that looks really nice...where did you say you had those made ? You did a good job in making those up ! |
