hi all i am about to move into the 100cc class. i am gonna go with one of the comp arf since they are what i have at my disposal. my setup is goung to as follows. 3w 106 on cans 8611 all the way around. what i am really looking for is a plane on which i will be able to perform imac style flying as well as 3d ... i am an intermediate pilot not really leaning to either just want it to be agood all around plane. after doing some research here is what i came out with yak 55 looks absolutly awsome. i love the yaks. is said to have some severe wing rock in up right harrier and difficul to snap. although tracks straight. extra 330 has the wing spar which i dont really like and has a long motor dome which makes the 3w stick out really far other wise looks slick and perfrormance is solid in the videos ive seen extra 260 can say that i am totaly in love with the looks of this one. is said to track staight and 3d well didnt manage to get hold of any videos though. extra 330sx absolutly love the way this airframe looks and it has a tube instead of the spar. is said to be the improved 330 but i also havent found any video or any real solid info on the way this one flies. would really appriciate your opinions on these airframes considering what i have already mentioned. the insight would be best from personal experience with 1 on even better a comparison of a few of these airplanes. thank you |

I've had a few of the Extra330 and one Yak55. What you write about either was my experience as well. For pure IMAC I would take the Yak55, but for pure 3D or both 3D and IMAC I'd go with the Extra. Aircraft International, and I'm sure somebody in Europe also, sells a spinner with a recessed backplate, so the longer 3W fits on the motorbox fine. I have only seen the 3.0m Extra260 in real life, but it looks to fly awesome, although being faster than the 330, which can get you in a bit of trouble on busy downlines.

Are you unable to get QQ Yaks in Russia? You said 100 cc size plane. Super Extra is 150 cc size plane. For all around 3D and IMAC... (in 150 cc size), look at ZN Line. Not as complete, but 4 pounds lighter then a SX. I have both and love both! Also, can you get Great Planes Products in Russia? In USA, this plane very low cost and great quality! http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXSWA3&P=PU |

I have the 3.1m Super Extra Fantasy scheme, and i love it...have the Yak fantasy scheme as well...they are outstanding.... You will not be disappointed with either choice.... If you balance the Yak you shouldn't get any major wing rock, mine doesn't have any - harriers with ease both upright and inverted - one of the best harrier aircraft i have ever put sticks on..... Compy's come pretty balanced out of the crate. My SuperExtra actually did more wing rocking at first then my yak, but a little lead shot and all is well.... Best of luck in your choice...

If your going to fly IMAC, you have two choices, 1.) 2.6 Yak 55 or 2.) 2.6 Extra 260.
