Default 28% bipe kit?

I'm in the market for a 50cc ultimate or pitts but I kinda have the building bug right now so I'd like to find a kit. I'd like the plane to be 3d capable.Anyone have any ideas?

You might want to check out John Durant's 28% Ultimate. The last few I've seen built were between 10.5 and 11.5 #'s with an O.S. 160, so even with a 50cc motor, it should still be pretty light. And he has a very in depth building manual with lots of pics you can check out on his web site.

Here's the link:

Thanks. I checked with durant direct drive and he said they were still trying to get caught up with the direct drive thing. (I'm planning to use those on wichever kit i get. They look pretty cool) He also said that they accuired a new laser cutter so I'm assuming the new kit will be laser cut. I'll check on the matney models kit as well. Thanks. Any more suggestions are welcome

Yikes! 17-21 lbs on the matney's model kit. Looks like a really nice plane though.

Exclusiv Modellbau has a 50cc Ultimate Kit, at the moment i'am building the 100cc Ultimate with a DA85 and i can tell you the kit is awesome, nice to build and every things fits very well. The Parts are alle CNC-milled and not lasered thats good for the glue.
The Ultimate is full 3D capabale and also nice in pattern stuff, the airframe is light and turns out with a DA50 aprox. at 16lbs so the power will be plenty.
If you are intressted you can look HERE! on my website for the buildthread, i think i update the it in the next few days. Like sayd, mine is the 100cc but the 50cc is very similiar in the construction. I find a 50cc Buildthread HERE!

Some pics of the 50cc version:
