I've finished one up for a guy in the past...I got it when it was about 1/2 done! Had to fix a bunch of hanger rash items as well as Cover and put the gear in it!

I think this is a very underated airframe. The guy I put it together for seems to like it a lot. He's got a 3W 150TOC on it outfitted with 8611's everywhere.

It's a standard Lanier kit, the Cowl and wheel pants are not the best quality, lots of pin holes to fill and trimming.

If I could ever afford to get into giant scale such as 40% I would get this kit first! A lot of times you can catch them on sale at lanier for under $600.

I think the Lanier 40% are the best looking EDGEs. O'boy I'm sure I'll catch some flak on that comment....

A guy did a build thread on this plane at www.pitsbros.com Very nice looking planes. Looks like it flew good, but it was definetly built right.

Yep that's him ... He's wearing that edge out something fierce too! But for as much as he's put it thru it's holding up together pretty well.

So far it's been crashed twice. Not really his fault. First time was right after I finished it. He was at top gun and had a flame out in a hover. Flattened the gear and busted up the firewall pretty good (the cowl was undamaged beleive it or not).

Second time was his spinner/prop went to pieces in the air, without a balanced prop the engine ripped itself from the firewall. He's also had to have the wings reinforced with some cf/fg rods along the spars. I think whoever built the wings didn't do the greatest job with how the sheeting was layed out.

He works/live in florida now and I do see him everynow and then at the local field. Last time was about a month ago... Oh for those that build this I'll make one note..

1. Right behind the TE of the wings at the fuse is an open area. It would be wise to sheet this area with balsa, last time I was inspecting His edge I notice the covering was stressed and ripping. Whether it was from constant wing install/removal or that area is flexing in flight. You'll see what I mean if you build one. His is doing this on both sides.

I think one of the coolest things Ryan does with this plane is a long knife high speed pass down the runway with kind of a snap at the end, making you think it's fixxing to go in. (I mean we're talking less than a foot between the ground and his wingtip) Kids got a knack for freestyle and is good at it!

Here's a clip of what he loves best.....HOOOOVERING! HEH HEH

Yes, that is Ryan Evans' plane. The plane in the picture is back on the building blocks. The prop sheared off at a show in Pensacola while hovering. The plane fell on its back and well you know the deal from there. Him and I were at the Columbus airshow this past weekend doing a show there. He flew one of our Cardens there and did very well. Ryan and I know each other very well and converse a lot. He IS an awesome pilot and 3d'r. We'll all be at Hodges Hobbies fly in next weekend. If you are in the area you should definitely attend. Its like a mini Joe Nall. www.hodgeshobbies.com
