I am going to start a build thread on the Great Planes Super Stearman with a CRRC Pro GF50I ( 50cc gasser ). First things first, YES I know it is over power. I have the two sitting and figured I will match them together. I DO NOT plan on sreaming this plane wide open down the runway. The only time I am going to do any wide open is going to be in the verticle postition. Well I am going to shot my expected weight of 16 1/2 lbs. ( dry ) and we will see how close I will be when it all is together. I also am installing a full smoke system in the aircraft. This plane should look awsome doing stall turns and monster loops with full smoke on. These are some weights as the are now. Built fuselage ( no radio or tank ) has landing gear, wheels, wheel pants, tail whell assy, all surfaces, deck, windsheilds, pilots 73.5 oz. Top wing, bottom wing with all mounting braces. 65.5 oz. Cowling, spinner, fuel tank, hardware, quick filler, fuel line 19.0 oz. Servos: Four Futaba S3305 One Futaba S3004 Extensions and switches One 6V 2000 mah battery Futaba FASST RX Opto kill switch 11.5 oz. Full smoker sysytem: Sullivan Skywriter 20 oz smoke tank 6V 2000 mah battery switch harness 15.5 oz. CRRC Pro GF50I Ignition, muffler, switch harness and ignition battery 62.5 oz Prop, custom stand offs and mounting bolts 8 oz. I will do pictures as I go along and do some numbers as I break in the engine. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just a fast update. I am using Robart pin hinges instead of the CA hinges. Ailerons are the 3/16" pin hinges, while elevator and rudder is 1/8" pin hinges. Fuel tank set up, of coarse a gasoline stopper, walbro felt filter/clunk, and Aerotrend easy flex gasoline fuel line. ![]()

I DO NOT plan on screaming this plane wide open down the runway. The only time I am going to do any wide open is going to be in the vertical position. You may want to check the threads on this plane on that other site. There are guys on there flying this with a 43cc SPE in it but I believe they had to extend the engine box for some reason. Also glassed the whole engine box. I had one of these and they fly great!!! Land terrible! LOL You'll need inflatable wheels with the air let out or it will bounch no matter how easy you set down. If you do a search on Putlie for a video called Death of a Stearman that was mine. My son has it now and won't fly it because of the way it lands. LOL As I recall my take-off weight with a Magnum 140 four stroke was 16 pounds.

Pretty much got the smoker assembly finished. Unit is assemled, mounting rails are in fuse. Just need to mount the switch and fuel dot for the smoke tank. I used velcro between tank and mounting plates, between smoke pump and tank, between battery and tank. Then used zip ties to secure everything. Assembly as you see it with a switch harness is 16.3 oz. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just took my CRRC Pro GF50I ( 50cc ) out of the box. After 8 oz. of fuel run, needles at factory settings, I did some quick 5 second burst of wide open for some rpm numbers. Xoar 19 X 8 @ 8200 Xoar 20 X 8 @ 7500 Zinger Pro 22 X 8 @ 6900 APC 22 X 10 @ 6700 JFX 23 X 8 @ 5600
