Default anyone flying the CA 2x2 extra

i'm wanting to build a small gasser that i can throw in the truck for after work flying. also want it to be good at IMAC and 3D. i've been looking at the QQ 73" yak, i know it will fly great but not sure about how a small gass engine will work on it. the CA 2X2 looks good and is a little bigger also i always wanted a CA plane. so has anyone out there flown it and what engine are you using? will it do the 3D stuff well?

randy

Hi Randy

I am flying the 2x2 / ZDZ50 & smoke system, it does fly superb, but my 'version' is not an out and out 3D machine, it is seriously overpowered, but slightly overweight at just shy of 15lb 8oz, could not have made it lighter as I have to have so much weight up front.
Best IMAC version I have seen is with a 140 on pipe, all radio mounted at the front, with pull-pull elev.
IMHO the 2x2 is a good model if you can keep it light.

My 'small cheap gasser' is a Wild Hare Edge 540 73" with a MVVS 160 gas, its not a rocket ship but has enough grunt to please. it only has 50 Sq ins less wing area than the 2x2..!!

Good flying
Tony
